Is it just rare (it's priced for $8.27 on TLG) or is it actually good. If so which type (1 or 2) is it better in?
-
It was a lot more useful before Son of God got its reprint in the I/J decks. Prior to that it (and the NT-only and Female-only) Lost Souls were used extensively for their inherent protection from being rescued by SoG and/or NJ. Now that SoG can negate them before rescuing they are less powerful.
-
So does anyone still use them anymore?
-
They might slow down low numbered characters like Joseph so they aren't useless. They can also be handy in a deck that decreases opponent's characters.
-
That's so cool, ill try that sometime!
-
It is also still somewhat useful in that NJ cannot rescue it, so if you have NT or Female-only out with this, they cannot rescue multiples in some cases still.
-
Do you think the devolopers did this on porpose, or just didn't think of t not being resqued by nj?

When it was designed, it was not able to be rescued by either (SoG or NJ), which put a limit on the dominants some. Can't speak to intent as much for then, but it was made at a time that it was protected from both.

Oh, so now its kind of outated...

Actually, at the time it was printed, it was still played that Son of God could rescue the NT Lost Soul and the */4 Lost Soul since Son of God said "any" Lost Soul. This was before the concept of "protect" was fully established.
-
Ah, did not play back then, though that makes sense with other card abilities for the time.

I see, so the rules evolved over time...
