Cactus Game Design Message Boards

Just as a heads up for anyone still interested I still am working on this endeavor. I've devoted a bit more of my time to experiencing other cards games competitive scene (primarily mtg and ygo atm) to better understand what makes them successful and what problems are experienced there. It's also been beneficial since it's easier to form relationships with players of those games who become interested in Redemption as well and get their opinions of Redemption along with other newer players to see how Redemption stacks up.

As of right now a vague assessment is that the complicated game states along with overly nuanced abilities/card design lend toward the biggest barriers of entry or keeping players in Redemption. I'm still looking for more specifics overall and seeing if there are some potential solutions to suggest and the like. It all just takes time and at the same point it does not mean that it will cause change. I really do appreciate all of the comments and the revival of this thread. Please if anyone else has any comments of their own or suggests please post. The more we as a community know and spread knowledge and are willing to express ourselves in healthy ways the better Redemption as a game and product it will be.

Thank you! Do/Did you by chance also have a look on games like Hearthstone or similar? They are quite popular and successful too.

I do play hearthstone some. I haven't played much recently but I've been doing my best to cover most of the major card games whether virtual or physical. Ygo duel links and hearthstone have been the main virtual card games I've played so far. I'm still willing to explore more the time and money are certainly limiting factors though.
