Angel at the Oak (D2)--> Samuel (search and D2) + Armorbearer + Ishmaiah (D3) + Asahelm+ King Saul (with The Throne of David out).

You get to draw 9, search for 1, and draw off of TTOD, as well as play first. You also will have Bravery of David, Samuel's Edict, Reach, and AOCP in the deck, and it'll be totally okay. There's also a multitude of ways to get him out. Personally, I don't think he's broken, although definitely good, but we've known that since before everybody was saying "AHIMILEK IS BROKEN BECAUSE SOMEBODY ELSE SAYS IT IS! BANZORZ! MORE BROKEN THAN UMAD-THAD! ...oh...wait...it's been a month...JOSEPH AND SAMUEL ARE BROKEN! BAN HAMMAH! AHIMILEK IS A N00B COMPARED TO THESE GUYS!"

Pretty soon we'll have people saying Que is broken...

I think this is a great point.  In August, Ahimilek and Isaiah were the flavors of the month.  This month Joseph and Samuel are the flavors of the month.  Next month it will probably be someone else.  This is a natural process of players adjusting to the new cards and seeing how they affect the meta.  Enjoy the ride, and see where things solidify after Christmas :)

Angel at the Oak (D2)--> Samuel (search and D2) + Prince Jonathan + Armorbearer + Ishmaiah (D2) + King David (with The Throne of David out).

Actually, you dont need prince jonathan in the band. Ishmaiah can draw 3 off Samuel - Armorbearer - Ishmaiah... he only checks for OT heroes, not WC.

Ishmiah bands to Asahel who bands to Saul.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

That's nothing.  All I need to counter it is *checks math*... six dozen plots.

im counting a +8 here, not 9. ishmaiah also does not band to king david, and there is a better king to have on the end than both david or saul.

Yeah, Oak (2) - Samuel (2+1) - Armorbearer -Ishmaiah (3) - Heldai - King Hiram (1) + TToD(1+)

10 cards minimum if they block. Granted, that combo IS a little convoluted, but the initial 4 hero combo is incredibly strong.

Use Stalks of Flax, give them Joseph, play Joseph in Prison off of Phillies Chariot and Horses.

And no, I'm not offering this as a legitimate counter.

Why is no one counting the guy that Samuel adds to battle? He adds a guy, and then can ALSO band.

More can be guaranteed with converted WC EC + WC D2/play next.  :)

Just remember Samuel negates Play abilities, so if he's in battle he negates the play ability on Throne of David (yes you still get a mass draw which is epic)

So, maybe Babel + JIP is a legitimate counter...would Joseph then go to Obadiah's Caves?

I like how RBD and CWD and CotM all ruin this. But you must take into account that these three cards practically ruin all offenses so....

Carry On.

i like how captured ark and destruction, which are far more accessible and playable in every deck, destroy all those counters. carry on.

I like how Lampy and Naz stop them both, and have applications beyond stopping those two cards.

Naz is legitimate. Iron Pan can take care of Lampy.
