Various Questions.......again

To all,

So here is another list of compiled questions from different situations that have arisen since my last posting.  If you feel challenged enough ;), read through the scenarios and answer according to number.  Thanks for any input you have.

1.)   I make a rescue attempt with The Woman at the Well.  My opponent uses Haman to block.  I have Moses and a converted (to a hero) Philistine Priests in my territory which then is set aside.  I play Meeting the Messiah and convert Haman to a gold brigade hero.  My opponent then plays Korah’s Rebellion.
i.   Does Haman’s controller still draw two cards because of Meeting the Messiah?
ii.   If Korah’s Rebellion wasn’t played then would the fact that The woman at the well made a successful rescue attempt fulfill Haman’s requirement and therefore Moses & Philistine Priests would be returned to my territory?
iii.   Furthermore, if the soul rescued is a 2-liner does that count as a successful rescue attempt?
2.)   In the case of mutual destruction (d/t numbers only) the hero dies and it is counted as a successful rescue attempt correct?  The thought that the hero “died” for the soul right?
3.)   My opponent converts my Emperor Augustus with Naaman’s Chariot and Horses equipped.
i.   Does the  Naaman’s Chariots and Horses stay with him as a hero?
4.)   I attempt a rescue attempt with Captain of the Host (Kings) and my opponent blocks with Astrologers (TexP).
i.   Does the SA of Astrologers work since it can’t be interrupted?
5.)   I block a rescue attempt with an EC and play Lying Unto God.  My opponent has Book of the Covenant up with two active covenants.
i.   If I choose to discard Book of the Covenant what happens?  Do all the artifacts get discarded or only the Book of the Covenant?  Do the two covenants stay active?  Negated?
6.)   If I play Land Dispute as a territory class enhancement can I add a soul to it right away or do I have to wait till my next turn?
7.)   I attempt a rescue attempt against my opponent with Attending Angel (TexP) and my opponent blocks with PAB which he then trades for Philistine Garrison.
i.   If I play Striking Herod does this interrupt Philistine Garrison’s immunity and then discard him?
8.)   I make a rescue attempt with Gabriel (Warriors).  My opponent blocks with Emperor Otho but decides to not his SA.  I have the initiative so I play Not Alone.
i.   Can Otho play heavy taxes?  If so, does Not Alone (and other cards like it) just allow for my opponent to have unlimited initiative?
9.)   I band Jacob and Angel of Warning in for a rescue attempt.  My opponent discards Gold Shield to convert Jacob to a red brigade hero.
i.   Does this negate the band with Angel of Warning?

Again thanks for reading the huge list everyone.  I hope that you have found something that helps you as well.

1 - a) no, Meeting was interrupted and removed to it never reactived. b) Yes, Moses and Philly Priests would be returned at the end of 4 turns. c) Yes, the 2-liner or 3-liner have to be rescued twice to count.  They can't be rescued twice if the first rescue doesn't count as a rescue. ;)

2 - Yes, in the case of mutual by the number the Hero gives their life for the lost soul.  That's straight out of the rule book.

3 - Yes, weapons convert with the character that's holding them.

4 - No, it doesn't work.  Captain is preventing their SA, not interrupting it.  Interrupt = stopping an ability after it activates.  Captain stops it before it activates.

5 - If a card is held by another card (as is the case with Covenants on the Book) they share the fate of their holder.  Lost Souls in a Site are the only exception.  The Covenants would not be negated so their abilities last until the end of the battle phase.

6 - Territory class Enhancements can be played during the prep and discard phase.  If you take a Site with Land Dispute during the prep phase you can also add a Lost Soul to the Site.  If you do it during your discard phase you cannot.

7 - Yes

8 - a) Yes, Otho can use Heavy Taxes and cause the battle to end in a stalemate.  b) Yes, immunity works great for Evil Characters, not so well for Heroes.  Ignore works better for Heroes.

9 - No, a red Jacob still has the SA that allows him to band to a silver Hero.

Blessings!

Gabe

1.) Huh...didn't read that they were two different abilities.  Thanks.  ---Issue Solved

They can't be rescued twice if the first rescue doesn't count as a rescue. ;)

Good point!!...

That's straight out of the rule book.

2.) guess I didn’t see that….sometimes you just brain fart you know?-----Issue Solved

3 - Yes, weapons convert with the character that's holding them

3.) Is this always the case?  If the SA of the weapon would conflict with the basis that the converted character is now a hero what would happen?

4 - No, it doesn't work.  Captain is preventing their SA, not interrupting it.  Interrupt = stopping an ability after it activates.  Captain stops it before it activates.

4.) Thanks…  wonder how long it will take me to understand the difference between interrupting something, negating something, and preventing something?-----Issue Solved

5 - If a card is held by another card (as is the case with Covenants on the Book) they share the fate of their holder.  Lost Souls in a Site are the only exception.  The Covenants would not be negated so their abilities last until the end of the battle phase.

5.) So just so I understand right anytime one card is holding another card…(in this case Book of the Covenant holding two other covenants…or in another case Solomon’s temple holding Lampstand of the Sanctuary) then if the original card (Book of the Covenant, Solomon’s temple) is discarded then everything inside (Other two covenants, Lampstand) would be discarded too?  So that would be like a 3 for 1 special on artifact destruction..

6 - Territory class Enhancements can be played during the prep and discard phase.  If you take a Site with Land Dispute during the prep phase you can also add a Lost Soul to the Site.  If you do it during your discard phase you cannot.

6.) Awesome thanks---Issue Solved

8- Immunity works great for Evil Characters, not so well for Heroes.  Ignore works better for Heroes.

This is great information to know!!  I didn’t ever realize this and am going to adjust some of my decks accordingly.  Thanks for the great tip Gabe…---Issue Solved.

9 - No, a red Jacob still has the SA that allows him to band to a silver Hero.

Okay….I think I phrased this question wrong… I guess I meant (this makes more sense to ask now), if Gold Shield was discarded to change Angel of Warning to a Red Brigade hero would that stop the band or cause the angel to withdraw from battle?

Even if an evil weapon said "discard a Hero" it would still convert if the Evil Character holding it was converted to a Hero.  In that case the SA of the weapon would no longer work.  The rule for converting evil to good is that the SA doesn't convert if directly harms a Hero.

You've got it.  Big reward (being able to have more than one Artifact active) also equates to larger risk (you could lose multiple cards if the holder is discarded).

This is also important for Fortresses that hold Heroes, like Judges Seat (Kingdoms of this World, etc).  If I discard your Judges Seat while a judge is sitting there the judge goes with it too.

Okay….I think I phrased this question wrong… I guess I meant (this makes more sense to ask now), if Gold Shield was discarded to change Angel of Warning to a Red Brigade hero would that stop the band or cause the angel to withdraw from battle?

Golden Shield can only target human Heroes so it could not convert an Angel.  There isn't currently any way to change the brigade of an Angel, but if there was it would not change Jacob's band since the Angel was a legal target when Jaboc's ability completed.

To 9. No because banding is an instant ability, not ongoing.

Okay.  I got it.  That’s definitely a risk!  Thanks.  ---Issue Solved

Good thing to keep in mind of then.  Thanks.

Okay.  This is what I thought.  Thanks for clarifying.  Even more so that Gold Shield wouldn’t work! LOL.  ---Issue Solved.

There isn't currently any way to change the brigade of an Angel

This makes me sad, I have a sweet combo that involves changing the brigade of an angel, but alas, tis not possible.

This is only mostly true. Angelic Rebellion will change the brigade of an angel. Of course, it also changes the former angel's alignment.   :o :o :o

This makes me sad, I have a sweet combo that involves changing the brigade of an angel, but alas, tis not possible.

I guess you'll just have to convert an animal.  :P
