Really like the new belt, way better than the previous protect/negate EE with lies, deceit, deception, and false in title ability. Although this is just a nit pick, but the limiting to N.T. Heroes seems a bit much as the only strong N.T. offenses are Disciples, TGT, Clays few themes, and maybe N.T. prophets w/ silver.

We get that, but we were also designing the AoG set as a part of the more expansive Spiritual Warrior theme, which is definitely a N.T. concept.  So that is more the reason for the limitation than anything, to be more true to the source.

I find it odd that you would use the word "only" then name a bunch of potent offenses. Don't forget the Deacons!  ;D

That's because compared to the large amount of O.T. offenses tha are viable, the N.T. offenses that are viable are limited to what I listed, deacons being one. There is no N.T. offense for blue, gold has Luke/John but for it to really do good you need a Greek defense, and teal has only a handful of N.T. characters.

You're just looking at it from a perspective of brigades, instead of themes.  Clay has the highest density of distinct themes of any brigade, and more are coming in this set.  The other brigades you mentioned are low-density in terms of themes, and therefore in terms of options for deck construction.

In OT Gold you have...judges.  In OT Purple you have...kings.  In OT Silver you have...angels.  In OT Green you have...prophets.  And so on.

In NT Gold you have...John/Luke.  In NT Purple you have...disciples.  In NT Silver you have...angels.  In NT Green you have...prophets.  And so on.

But where you have 'missing' brigades for NT, where the OT themes are just as limited as above, you have Clay's diversity instead.   In Clay you have Missionaries, Deacons, Spiritual Warrior, and each of the churches as separate entities, with cards specifically written to benefit that one theme and built with enough characters to run alone or paired as you desire.

So it really isn't as limiting as you think, given the diversity of Clay generally.

The Deacons don't need Clay help. They were awesome already. Parmenas ftw!  :o

This may be a little off topic, but when are the other brigades going to get the diversity that Clay has? Because that would be really cool if every brigade had that kind of diversity.

I'm not sure that it will ever be the case, just due to the lack of themes with enough printable cards to put that many in every brigade.  Also, there are some brigades where this is impossible (like silver) due to the nature of the brigade.

Further, printing everyone in Clay shows the unification in Christ in the new church, where there are different groups that can all work together, and it works very well compared to trying to figure out where to put each of these themes in other brigades.

Lastly, you're probably seeing the bulk of the 'push' to get Clay printed right now.  There aren't as many more themes for printing into it in the future, and the last two sets were devoted to it.  So it won't be the 'only' focus in future sets like it was in these (where the goal was to get it big enough to be viable).

To some degree they have it already. We will continue to work toward expanding that diversity as well.

For example:

O.T. green prophets can be built around - Isaiah or Ezekiel as a theme (using silver for support).
O.T. blue Genesis can be built around hand control, sons of Jacob or patriarchs. And don't forget about Job!
O.T. white can be built around Ruth, musicians or Daniel.
O.T. Teal has Z's Temple, Solomon's Temple, Tabernacle Priests and House of Eleazar Priests

We will continue strengthening, expanding and adding to the various themes with every set. If things go as planned a number of O.T. themes will receive a significant boost around this time in 2016.

Out of the two pieces so far, I can see breastplate getting more play, especially in TGT and clay FBTN decks

My guess is for the other pieces are purple for sword, blue helmet, gold shield, and teal shoes . I don't care about the contest since I already preordered the set.

In other news, I've got a 100% record on the brigade-guessing contest so far! :D

Today's card has gotten no less than 4 songs about dancing stuck in my head....

Also, I'm still 100% on my brigade-guessing! How have everyone else's guesses been going?

Shoes of peace is a type two type card but is useless in type 2 except for its very small niche  lol Breast plate is a pretty good card and so I suppose shoes let's you select another evil brigade to negate but I bet the other armors are better.

Shoes of peace is a type two type card...

It's definitely more a T1 card.  Soul drought is much rarer in T2, particularly over the course of the entire game, but in T1 this allows you to BC and hope to pop out souls.  A very good multi card for that reason too, though the X is dependent on your use of AoG to get bigger.

Its ability falls in to a category of cards played in type two, you know those cards that aren't necessary but helpful in some situations. Its a type one ability for sure yes but its too awful to really think about playing unless there's something else where you really need that extra X or works when all armors are in play

At least the old Shoes of Peace has some playability if you can use it every turn (or attach it to the old Saint of Virtue, which is significantly easier with Christian Soldier and Soldier of God). That being said, Soul Drought does happen in T2, at the last tournament I had not 1 or 2, but 3 games that were, for the most part, determined by lack of Souls (although in one case there was some site usage), One of the games I would have won if my opponent had draw 1 more Lost Soul at any point during the game.

Shoes of Peace would be very, very irritating if you put it on Seeker of the Lost.

Hey so quick question... is there a limit to the number of territory class cards you can have on a single character? Is there any reason I couldn't just put ALL of these cards on a single character to make them protected from... well everything?

I'd recommend using Cov of Josiah and Lampstand if you want to go that route.

You can, but that is a lot of investment and set up into one character.

Sadly I guessed incorrectly for today's card, but I'm still 2/3 overall.
