The FoM pack opening thread

Opened 3 boxes a few days ago.  Here's some of the statistics, for what it's worth.  I find this stuff fascinating.  Feel free to post your own data if you want.

72 packs
3 URs (got 1 of each, thankfully)

15 Legacy Rares (I think I got 6 in 2 boxes and 3 in the last box, but it might have been 6-5-4)
LR breakdown - 4 Eve, 3 OoN, 2 Lot's Wife, 1 copy of 6 others, so I need 9 others still
Side note:  These things are rarer than URs, so I'm surprised that TLG is basing their pricing on the old version of the cards.  I am strongly considering simply buying the LRs I'm missing that are under $4.

56 Rares (yes, you read that right, keep reading if you are wondering why this isn't 54  ;) )
26 Unique rares - meaning, despite getting 56 rares, I am still 10 rares short of a complete set.  This is part statistical variance, part Legacy Rare impact.  Rares are going to be rarer than CoW or RoJ by about 33% I estimate.  (It's why I think Rubble & Dust's price is going to be a lot higher in the future.  Look what Falling Away (CoW) went to, and R&D is going to be harder to get in boxes.)
Dominants - 2 Rubble & Dust, 1 ANB
Player-created cards - 3 Leviathans, 2 Hope, 0 Mighty Warrior/Lost Anointing

296 Commons (should have been 288...  keep reading)
106 Unique commons - ended up missing 2 commons for a complete set

3 Grapes of Wrath (pure luck, the expected number of each TxP was 1.2 copies)

And an interesting side note...  In 2 of my 3 packs that had URs, I received a 2nd pack of FoM cards.  So 2 packs had 10 FoM cards instead of 5.  Who knows what happened.  Hence, why I had 2 extra rares and 8 extra commons.

In my second box I opened, the pack that had an UR also had an extra 5 FoM pack.  8)

Man, why's it gotta be in the ones with URs? If you pull one of those you're already doing well enough. Shouldn't a second pack be a pity prize for when your rare is Lying Spirit?  ::)
ANB is good. Change my mind.

My guess is that when they were being packed, the boxes were made with 24 non-UR packs, and then five card sets with an UR were randomly placed in one of those 24 packs, and the packer forgot to remove the five card set with the rare from that pack.

We opened two boxes yesterday. It was something like this for specifics:

10 Legacy Rares (no duplicates). 6 in one box (Sabbath Breaker, Moses, Hopper, Wanderer, Punisher, Amalakite's Slave) and 4 in the other (Eve, Pentecost, Capturing Canaan, Egyptian Magicians).

Wages of Sin and Babel.

2 ANB, 2 Rubble and Dust (one per box).

Player cards: 2 Leviathan, 1 Lost Anointing, 1 Mighty Warrior, 1 Hope.

1 Grapes of Wrath.

The two packs with the URs did not have extra cards in them. In the end, we were missing the Fall of Man, 10 commons, and 13 rares. After some trading, we're down to needing only the Fall of Man, 12 rares, and 3 Legacy rares (Balaam's Disobedience, Lot's Wife, Death of Unrighteous) now. Not too shabby for 2 boxes. 8)

Also, we got one extra loose pack with the boxes for fun, with a nice third Rubble and Dust there (but Ryan's luck is pretty good...).

Man, why's it gotta be in the ones with URs? If you pull one of those you're already doing well enough. Shouldn't a second pack be a pity prize for when your rare is Lying Spirit?  ::)

Lying Spirit is a total stud

The Wagen triplets opened four boxes today and got something like 6 or 7 Lying Spirits. And 3 Babels. Lol

Ordered just 20 booster packs from Cactus game design.

Here are some of the cards in all 20 booster packs I got:

-Very first pack opened got Rubble and Dust.

-Grapes of Wrath

-Got the following Lost souls in all 20 packs

Wicked
Hunter
Covet
O.T only
6/or greater

-The Wages of Sin (with an extra 5 Fall of Man cards in the same pack)

-Legacy Rares:  Balaam's Disobedience , Lost Soul (Wanderer) and Mayhem!  :o :o

I think for the amount of 20 packs (four packs less than a box) the contents inside of each was very good value.

Wow! But how did 6 FoM cards find their way into one single booster pack?

Opened 2 boxes of FoM cards yesterday.

The URs I got were The Fall of Man and Babel.

Got 12 Legacy rare cards (6 per box) - only 1 duplicate.  Need 7 more for complete set.

Need 17 cards for complete Fall of Man set (1 UR, 9 rare and 7 common).

Please Note:  My budget allowed for 3 boxes.  I will be ordering a third box sometime in the near future.  I am not in the market for buying/selling or trading at this time.

Thanks,
VJ

Awesome, thanks for sharing! I'm surprised you got 12 legacy rares in just 2 boxes! I thought they were supposed to be 3-4 per box.

I opened the booster box I won from the folks at Deck Metrics the other night. Got some decent pulls!

My Ultra Rare was "Fall of Man" and my legacy rares were "Balaam's Disobedience," "Obedience of Noah," "Spy," and "Death of Unrighteous."

I also got a third Grapes of Wrath, so all's good. :)

Had an interesting experience with my box.

5 LR's (Eve, Balaam's disobedience, death of unrighteous, obedience of noah, pentecost)
Wages of Sin as the UR

But what makes the box interesting is the card distribution.  I did not get any of cards #1-39 of the set.  Then I started getting rares at card #40 (moab).  My first common was card #67 (golden calf worship).  Anyone else have a similar experience (or perhaps reversed?  :P)

Definitely have not heard of that happening before.

I did notice that often my 4 FoM commons would be close in number (maybe all of them would be 92-109 or something).  But it didn't always happen and I never experienced something that drastic.

My final box I got for winning sealed at mega-draft.  Was pretty packed with awesomeness, just needed to get that Mayhem but didn't happen!

Box 4 Break:
UR - Babel
4 Legacy Rares - Balaam's Disobedience, Captured Ark, Lost Soul (Punisher), Capturing Canaan
2 Player Created Cards - Leviathan, Lost Anointing
Noteable Rares (Anything worth more than the normal rare) - Lost Soul Covet (2x), Rubble and Dust (2x)
Noteable Commons (Lost Souls) - Lost Soul (6/*), Lost Soul (Blind), Lost Soul (O.T. Only), Lost Soul (Hunter), Lost Soul (Prosperity)
Noteable Other Cards (Anything $3.00 or more) - My Lord and My God, Grapes of Wrath

After 4 boxes here is what I'm missing from the set. I got all 3 UR's and I believe my common set should be complete as well.

Missing Rares:
The Rainbow
Confused Languages
Moab
Lost Soul (Vindicated)
Heart of Depravity

Missing Legacy Rares:
Lost Soul (Wanderer)
Mayhem
Egyptian Magicians
Obedience of Noah
Eve
