Strengthening Orange?

With so many Ornage cards out there now, and how most of us agree that as standalone it is fairly weak compared to other evil colors, I was curious why this is.  Why is there no fortress that protects demons in territory from discard, for example?  Practically every other color has one of these.  Once you create the fortress you could also create a demon who could search for that fortress, correct?

Was Orange incorrectly perceived as "super-strong" at first by the playtesters?

Thanks.

Spiritual Realm

Type: Fortress • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Holder's demons are protected from capture unless the capturing player has Tartaros in play. While holder's demon is in battle, weapon-class enhancements on human heroes are worth 0/0.

There's your demon fortress :)

Thank you.  I am aware of that fortress, and it is great against Women as Snares.

But please consider this scenario that actually happened the other day in our casual 3 player game.

I am playing Genesis Heroes/Babylonians.  One friend is Purple Heroes / Egytptians.  Other friend is Teal / Orange.  All 3 decks were mine, and did have the anti-capture fortress in my Teal/Orange deck and it WAS in play.

Purple/Gold player rescues against Teal/Orange with Ethiopian Treasurer and, of course, plays AOC promo.  All of his Egyptians are protected by Pharaoh's throne room.  All of my Babylonians are protected by "Riblah" (whatever the Babylonian protect fortress is).  Teal / Orange player loses ALL demons that he has in play to the discard pile.

It wasn't just that we had gotten to our best cards first, it was that Orange does not have a fortress that has a similar function, and I was wondering why not.  There's one for Sadduccees, Syrians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Egyptians, and probably several others that I'm not thinking of because I don't play the other "themes".

I was just curious why Orange is so weak, especially considering that they are demons and should be pretty strong against human heroes.

Should demons not crumble under the Authority of Christ?  :)

There are options.  The color guard Lost Soul in a purple site.  Kingdoms of this World (SWS can be used to get anyone out to block with them).  Seven Son's of Sceva can return a demon from the discard pile.  There's also the strategy that's unique to orange - playing off the bottom of your deck.  Hide your cards there with The Bronze Laver and use the power of orange to pull them into hand or battle.

Not every brigade should have a Fortress that protects them from being discarded.  I have a feeling that some day orage will get a cool, powerful Fortress, but it probably won't be what you expect.  ;)

Blindness, Blindness, Blindness.  How is this not in every orange deck?

Orange is also one of the "easiest" evil brigades to recur at present.  You have Torment, you have Seven Sons of Sceva, and with some creative application you can use Satan Released and even Tartaros to recycle your demons.  Sadducees are probably the only theme you're better able to pull from the discard pile.  For now.

ALso, orange has some devastating special abilities.  Should we also insulate them from all their weaknesses?  Every brigade has cards that work well within their theme.  True, orange is still the weakest brigade, but that is likely because it is one of the newest brigades.

I dont really see a problem with orange.  It just has weaknesses that you have too guard against.  This game you mentioned was devastating to the orange defense, but other brigades can fall victim to other similar strategies.

Dropping hints like a new set is coming out soon.   :o   Keep up the good work.
