When building a deck, I often find myself thinking, "Man, that card would be really useful in this deck! If only it were in the right brigade..." That's why I think Training in Righteousness was such a great card Idea. It adds a lot of strategy to the game, because you can take older heroes and put them in the "correct" brigade for their themes. For example, Thomas could be very nice as a gold hero for the Luke theme; Jephthah would be a bit more useful in gold as well, for the judges theme; Nicanor could be a good purple hero for The Word Spreads; I could also see some of the WC gold heroes being more useful with some red; etc. And that's only involving gold brigade.
There are only a few problems with this card: A) It takes four turns to set up. That is usually far too long to be practical unless you are playing a super duper turtle deck. B) It is only in gold brigade, which doesn't go well with many other themes. C) It seems odd to me that TiR gives two extra brigades, as I thought we were trying to discourage 3+ brigade offenses. (That might just be for speed though.) IMO, the card should have been made like this:
Training in Righteousness
0/0 Multicolor (or maybe tri-color) GE
"Set one hero aside for three turns. Upon return, that hero gains an additional brigade of your choice."
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I would love to see more (and better) cards like this in the future.
