How Do I Organize Cards in a Collection?

I'm brand new to Redemption, and have been enjoying getting to know the game mechanics through the I/J starter decks. But I've also started ordering packs and grab bags to expand my collection, not just for play, but also just to collect.

As far as I can tell, plenty of sets don't really have any particular numbering for collecting purposes. Is there a standardized way to order those sets--say if I wanted to keep them in those clear, nine-card display sheets?

I'm aware of the card database, but is there anything else I should know? Any links to card orderings, also set orderings?

Thanks, gang!

Welcome to Redemption!

Organization all depends upon the player/collector. I know one person who puts cards in Biblical order (as in to tell the story), while others do it by set, or others by card types and/or brigades, and other ways. For me I tend to be the anomaly because I’m a retailer of redemption, but also like deck building, so I order my cards based upon the set first, then Hero, Good Enh, Evil Character, Evil Enhancements, and Misc. For the heroes to EEs I break them down by brigade, and then put multi brigade after those mono brigades, then finally rainbow brigade (all brigades). I break this down further by doing alphabetical order by brigade first (Such as blue, clay, gold, etc), then card name in each brigade.

This helps me a lot for getting to single cards quickly when an order is placed, as well as when I’m building decks.

As for storage, again I’m the anomaly because I use Monster 5000 cardboard storage boxes due to having multiple copies of cards. Some use these boxes but also use binders, three ring binder sleeves, plastic cases, etc.

As for set chronology, if you go to the booster packs page on the Your Turn Games (YTG) site, the oldest begins from the bottom right then moves to the left, then back up the right, and so on.

As for card numberings, that began with Thesaurus ex Preteritus set. The set symbol began with the Women set.

If you need certain card orderings, you can visit the YTG site and select singles, then the drop down list on the left and right. You can select certain options to see cards by brigade, card types, set, etc.

I hope this helps!
