There are plenty of all cards printed in Redemption...my guest bedroom stands as proof of this. I do like the idea of updating the wording on actual cards, but not if they are only functional reprints. Changing up the look of the card (i.e. full card art or a slick new border) would be a must to distinguish these cards enough from the old ones that both would still be desirable. Obviously this comes from a re-seller's perspective.
i think the way they have done reprints while still keeping the originals relevant is cool.. captain of the host for example was great in warriors, the warriors version is still great, but there are some reasons people would play the kings version. not necessarily an entire set reprint but some cards like michael, john, and david naturally have multiple versions and i like how old cards have been getting upgrading. i have a few cards rob/david easterling upgraded and signed for me back in the day pretty cool to see how that concept has manifested into real printed versions with significant upgrades
@Gabe, well another game I play introduces 10 TCG exclusive cards and 10 formerly OCG exclusive cards per set. So I could see it being plausible.
I'm totally open to alternate art for basically all the cards or finding some way to make them more attractive besides updating the text so it's the most accurate. My biggest question to you though is do you think foiling out a complete set of reprints would help sell the set?

The game is Yugioh. The OCG (Original Card Game) cards are those that are exclusive to the Japanese series of cards since it started there. TCG (Trading Card Game) are those use everywhere else.
I like the idea of giving a refresh to existing cards. Doing an entire set at once might not be feasible from a business standpoint. Using Kickstarter could help determine the viability and interest in a project like this. Or maybe we could just do 5-10 "refresh cards" per year that are included in the new set that releases each summer.Recently Rob has experimented with a new border style that looks really cool. Maybe he could come up with a special border for these "refresh cards" to distinguish them. I don't think his current printer does foil cards and I would be reluctant to encourage those again due to the warping problems we've seen.
