Not wanting to distract (or "campaign") further in the EC name submission thread, I wanted to discuss Rapha/"The Giant" more here.

From the transliterated Hebrew as well as KJV and some other literal translations, in 2 Samuel 21:16-22 and its parallel passage 1 Chronicles 20:4-8 "the giant" is referred to as a real individual person - the father of Goliath, Saph, Lahmi, Ishbibenob, and "The Twelve-Fingered Giant". Similarly to that last unnamed but nick-named son, I'm sure "The Giant" (a.k.a. Rapha) was not this man's actual name. The Philistines were not all giants, so this man must have really stood out and earned the nickname by his immense size. It's cool that he had 5 giant sons (at least) as well - although obviously it wasn't cool that they were fighting against the Israelites and the Lord!

(Fun aside here - remember when David killed Goliath, how many stones he picked up? 5! I'd like to think it was not because David lacked faith that he (really, the Lord through him) would need all 5 to kill Goliath, but on the contrary, it was because he was so full of faith that he was ready to take down Goliath and his 4 giant brothers, who most likely were there with him!!)

2 Samuel 21:22 says, "These four [omitting Goliath in this context] were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants." This family was from Gath, which was one of the 5 Philistine cities (along with Ashdod, Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ekron). Cross-reference this with 1 Samuel 17:4 - "And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span." Once again it is supported that "The Giant"/Rapha was an actual man, the father of Goliath and his brothers - who all were from Gath.

So assuming this is correct, I'm wondering if we only need to find a suitable name for this individual (similar to "The Twelve-Fingered Giant").

Haha sounds great! I was also thinking of an ability involving searching/banding for 1 or more of his sons, as well as being territory-class and granting Philistine giants in battle first inish

Haha I love it! Thank you for doing that! Just one change I would recommend is for there to be “giant” after “Philistine” so ECs like King Achish, Fallen Warrior, and Delilah wouldn’t benefit and be playing two EEs first
