Training in Righteousness

When building a deck, I often find myself thinking, "Man, that card would be really useful in this deck! If only it were in the right brigade..." That's why I think Training in Righteousness was such a great card Idea. It adds a lot of strategy to the game, because you can take older heroes and put them in the "correct" brigade for their themes. For example, Thomas could be very nice as a gold hero for the Luke theme; Jephthah would be a bit more useful in gold as well, for the judges theme; Nicanor could be a good purple hero for The Word Spreads; I could also see some of the WC gold heroes being more useful with some red; etc. And that's only involving gold brigade.

There are only a few problems with this card: A) It takes four turns to set up. That is usually far too long to be practical unless you are playing a super duper turtle deck. B) It is only in gold brigade, which doesn't go well with many other themes. C) It seems odd to me that TiR gives two extra brigades, as I thought we were trying to discourage 3+ brigade offenses. (That might just be for speed though.) IMO, the card should have been made like this:

Training in Righteousness
0/0 Multicolor (or maybe tri-color) GE
"Set one hero aside for three turns. Upon return, that hero gains an additional brigade of your choice."

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I would love to see more (and better) cards like this in the future. :)

Playtesters discourage more than 3 brigades (so that SA promos can be used well).

Are you a playtester? If not, I'd like to hear from one myself, because honestly, either seems probable.

I would prefer

"Set a character aside for one turn. On return, change character's brigade to a different one of your choice."
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I was thinking of something like that, too, but that really doesn't sound like "training" to me. I guess that might be a good ability for another card.

well the game doesn't run for 4 turns anyways so it's ok to play it on the first turn to get yourself going in a hurry and set yourself up for comboes you can use

i meaan i play this card and if there's anyone whose thinking of having more then 1 brigade offense, please let one of the brigades in your deck be gold cause gold has several good cards in it
like taking egypt's wealth from G/H which you can use to take one of your opponent's enhancments and possibly use it against them in a game and furnace of God's wrath, highway, and battle prayer are to name a few others
Your biggest competition is YOURSELF
