I think Rawr pretty much covers the reasons why White is the best good brigade.
Honestly, I struggled a bit with this question. Three brigades stand out: Purple, Teal, and White.I decided to not go for the White Madness because of TGT. It still has a lot of positives, but across the board: I don't think White can compare with Teal and Purple. Alex made a great and strong case for Teal. I have won many tournaments with Teal, but Purple has versatility. If you need it, then purple likely has it.I decided to go with Purple with it's latest power boost. It is the most versatile and therefore the most powerful. A synopsis of what purple possesses.SpeedCBN enhancments (including the most powerful)multiple great charactersmultiple good support fortsmultiple interruptsbandingignoresprotectionsite accessetc. (I'm sure there's more...this list is off the top of my head.)
I almost voted for purple, just because it's so dominating this year. But I can't believe nobody had voted for Green, yet. It's probably the most diverse, hard to stop brigade in all of Redemption. It has everything and more:FBTN (Benaiah)Some of the best recursion in the game (Micah)Banding (Haggai, Simeon, Armorbearer, Aaron, Strong abilities on CBN Heroes (Nathan, Simeon, Habakkuk, Hur)Counters for several evil brigades (Miriam, Joel, Nahum, Obadiah)Pre-block ignore (Joanna, Miriam, Spiritual Warfare)Great drawing (Hur + Gifts, Feast of Trumpets)Two of the most powerful enhancements in the game (ANB, Provisions)The only good card (to my knowledge) that has been errata'd twice (ANB)Many search cards including the best in the game (Search FooF)Deck discard and play first for many of it's Heroes (Hidden Treasures)Plenty of negates (STP, Behold the Lamb, Baptism of Jesus, Benaiah Snatches a Spear)Can discard any evil card (Baptism of Jesus)More amazing shuffle abilities than I can listSome of the best anti-immunity cards in the game (Plague of Frogs, Two Bears)Side battles (Sword of the Lord, Visions)More multi-color Heroes than any other brigade (Jeremiah, Aaron, Zechariah, FSP, maybe more...)It won Nationals T1-2P in 2010It won Nationals T2-MP in 2010It tied for first and was on the only deck to beat the 1st place deck at Nats in T2-2P in 2009I'm sure there's things I've forgottenThe only brigade that can come close to those credentials in recent history is Teal.
Speed: Teal is faster. Two recurrable feasts>one feast + Reach/Prosperity
CBN enhancments (including the most powerful): Zeal + Josh + Holy Unto the Lord (CBI) > AoC and... nothing else... oh wait, Sent Two by Two... awesome. And Thomas. I give Teal a slight edge due to the CBN being better (Z Temple).
multiple great characters: This is a push in quantity, but purple does get the edge in quality thanks to Thad.
multiple good support forts: Fishing Boat and TToD > Z Temple
multiple interrupts: Which multiple interrupts are you talking about Reach + Situational Royal Parade? Push.
banding: Teal has the best banding the game hands down thanks to Z Temple
ignores: Neither brigade has great ignore, but purple gets an edge because of John
protection: Teal wins without contest
site access: Fishing Boat gets the edge.
I agree with the first two statements. You make a strong case for purple, however:Speed: Teal is faster. Purple might be slightly better, but that fact I am the only voter on Teal is dissapointing, similar to Gabe being the only green vote. Teal and Green are the best two brigades in my opinion. Teal wins to me because of how easily it fits with.... anything with only a few cards.
