Title: O.T. Lost Souls
Post by: Gabe on April 06, 2018, 07:46:11 AM
Which of the new O.T. Lost Souls (http://landofredemption.com/?p=7528) do you expect to make the biggest impact?

Very nice. I like the restriction abilities. Definitely like the Hunter. OT souls truly need their own Escape.

So Vindicated and Covet will be the only rare LSs or is that subject to change?

I vote we rename the */6 to the Fat Man.

I vote we rename the */6 to the Fat Man.

We discussed a number of 'nicknames' for this Lost Soul, including "Fat" and in the end decided 6/* was both an homage to the */4 and wouldn't offend or turn anyone off from Redemption

Before the art was revealed (and given the giant themes in the set) I was looking at the name and wondering why it wasn't called "mighty" or something. I guess that doesn't fit with that particular verse/art but I might call it that anyway. Or maybe since it's "6/*" "strength" would be a better shorthand.

Hunter, Vindicated, and Covet are all fantastic. Wicked will be a staple, but we've known that for weeks. I can't decide if Blind will be better early in the meta (when not everyone has the new souls) or later (when people realize that NT souls like Dull are still worth running).

The article says that covet LS can trigger the prosperity LS, but how can the be when the prosperity LS triggers when drawn and covet only searches for it?  Am I missing something?

There was a very recent adjustment to the Prosperity LS so I think Travis may have already had his article written prior to that change.
The Prosperity LS only triggers when drawn so there won't be quite as many shenanigans with Covet, but let's face it, Covet is one big shenanigan anyway... ::)

That is not my most recently updated article I don't think. I changed that bit about Prosperity. This is what my updated section on the Covet should say...

Quote
The “Covet” Lost Soul is basically the super hero version of the mild mannered “Exchanger”. Not only can you exchange Lost Souls with another player, but you can get the Lost Soul of your choice out of their deck. The cool thing about this Lost Soul is that when it triggers, you can go fishing for any Lost Soul in your opponent’s deck which may have answers to something they are doing to you. That means that when you build, you need to make sure your own Lost Souls can’t be “Covet”ed and used against you.
