My wife and I started this with a gift set with decks G/H.....  I must say we are hooked and filling out some boosters. It seems like the best route for us to go is the more basic Unlimited and Prophets sets before delving into the more newer sets.  But where from there? I did order the ROA tins, but I truely have no clue. My wife is new to CCG's totally, myself I played MTG years back. I have to say I never even knew Redemption existed at all until recently. Glad I found it. It's an awesome passtime!!!!!!

Hey Blaze,

Welcome to the community! I'm sure there are plenty around here who would love to help to you and your wife out (I actually met my wife playing this game, and we still do play each other on occasion, so it's a great game for couples as well!) My first question I always ask new players that begin with a starter is what did they like about the cards they have. Do either of you have a preference about what deck you play with? The Rock of Ages or Faith of Our Fathers tins have many great cards in the individual sets that can benefit other decks, but you may notice that they may not match what you have with the G/H cards. However, you did get some packs in each tin that could help (Apostles for the H Deck, Patriarchs for the G deck, as well as one Unlimited, Prophet, and Priest pack).  Unlimited is a great starting expansion if you are wanting to power up your deck with mostly cards that do not have special abilities. Prophets is one step up from that.  Most new players find the colors they liked from the starter, and then choose tins that match those colors (one to two for offense, and one to two for defense). Currently there are 25 tins available with a variety of offensive and defensive themes.  From there players will fill in gaps with cards from the other expansions like Disciples, Thesarus Ex Preterius (TeP), Priests, Womens, and Angel Wars. Where are you located? There maybe a playgroup nearby!

When I got home yesterday from work, there were two packages nestled by my door. So we filled out our Unlimited, Prophets, ROA, and Women sets as well as quite an influx of the rest.  I suspect the Factory set sometime in the near future for the Warriors.

It looks like we'll start with T1 decks built from Unlimited/Prophets cards (only) for a while, before serious building with the rest.

ThechnoEthicist, we're from western PA.

Where at in western PA?  I'm down in Greene County, there's another guy on the boards (Alex_Olijar) who's up in the Pitt area.  Depending on how close y'all are to me, I'd love to meet up with you and work through game mechanics and deck-building stuff.

Ooh, sweet, we'll have to find some time to get together and play, then!

Great to have you here Blaze.  You have come to the right place for people who enjoy Redemption and want to hang out with others who do the same.  The forum is a great place if you want to trade or buy cards, get advice for your deck, keep up with new rules, ask a question about what the rule is for a certain situation, see the decks of past champions, play in the free online tournament, or even just ask for prayer.
