Evil Protect Forts

Those of you who have seen my latest threads in the New Card Ideas thread have seen that I am remaking cards from certain themes/civilizations. My question is which Protect Fort do you think needs to be redone the most?

I'd like to see Rome become a protect fort, instead of just giving first strike and NT EE usage.  Both Gates shroud their kings in near-full protection, it would be nice if the Romans got something similar.

Here my first shot.
Rome
Evil Fortress
X= # of Heroes in battle
First Strike. Protect Romans in your territory from decrease and opponent's characters. If more than one Hero is in battle, you may draw X (limit 2).

Not sure how I feel about the CBN part, honestly.  Also, first strike on all those 10/1 and 10/7 guys is part of their whole strategy; if Rome loses that, emperors lose a lot of their strength (as a sub theme).

I like the protection from conversion and opponent's characters, that is great.  However, there should never be a TToD for evil, especially one that grants CBN to enhancements.

I would think a reprint of the old Rome that replaced the NT EE clause with the protection clause you gave would be a good one :)

Rome shouldn't be a standard protect fort, it should abandon the First Strike ability in favor of protecting all Roman evil characters in play from decrease, and keep the rest.

Without first strike, all those 10/1 emperors have to use Heavy Taxes with 6-7+ cards in hand so it isn't a mutual with the hero winning.  Imo, losing first strike ruins most of what the emperor sub theme is all about.

I also like the NT EE clause, but would rather see that go than lose the first strike ability.

As much as I like my emperors using power cards from other brigades, I still think the first strike ability is more important for the theme/current characters than using any NT EE.

Temple of Dagon is by far the worst theme Fortress.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Agreed...it is only useful for holding Altar of Dagon without using up your artifact pile.  Conversion is what Philly's really fear, not capture ;)

Temple of Dagon
Evil Fort
Holds 1 Idol
Protect Philistines in territory from Conversion and Discard. If all your Philistines are Giants, Evil Banding abilities cannot be negated.

I really like that idea and could definitely see myself playing a Lahmi->Saph->Ishbibenob->(I feel like there's another but I'm not sure)->Goliath/12-Fingers/Garrison deck.

You didn't restrict it to territory ;)  The current wording would protect them from conversion and discard in battle too.  That would be, generally speaking, a bad thing :D

I really like that idea and could definitely see myself playing a Lahmi->Saph->Ishbibenob->(I feel like there's another but I'm not sure)->Goliath/12-Fingers/Garrison deck.

CBP would still be negated by Goliath/12FG ;)

Territory capture is just not potent enough to cause a problem, and that is the only thing it protects from.  Also, in T2 where these guys can thrive, capture does nothing to stop you from being able to bring out another 12FG or Goliath, but conversion does.

If you don't think it's the worst evil theme fortress, then what is?

Right... Well there goes that idea... I don't see the harm in making it CBN... and being able to hold Household Idols... :P

It's now CBN. Where's the harm in having it hold HHI? You can hurt most banding offenses
