Musicians Becoming Powerful

Is it just me, or is white brigade suddenly becoming super powerful, what with the musicians and all? I mean, at first I didn't think being able to use music enhancements was that great, but now with Musicians' Chambers, David's Music, Sing and Praise, Protection of Angels, and all the new musicians being able to use the enhancements again and again, it seems the musician theme is really building up.

Discussing musicians with someone after the tournament yesterday, it seems a good musician offense would be strongly effective against a lot of common strategies and a lot of uncommon ones. :) As long as Moses and King David are prophets, there's a whole lot of awesome going on.

Well if you read the story of David's encounter with King Saul, it was David's music that soothed him as he was being spiritually tormented. It seems very appropriate to me. And for the record, Brian Reid had a great "Musician" themed deck almost a year ago and was beginning to work out the kinks to make it devastating. I cannot imagine what he would have done with this new set!  R.I.P.

Yeah, the NT women are kinda nice. I'm just not a big fan of ignore and immune abilities myself.

I Am Truth: "Good enhancements with "ignore" in the special ability cannot be negated by evil cards."

I wouldn't worry about people using Priestly Breastplate though. I'd be more concerned about the anti-ignore LS personally.

Yeah, I was getting to that, too. Also, ignoring doesn't really do much unless your strength is higher than your opponet's defense, or if you have some battle winner to play after you play an ignore card. :dunno:

Oh, maybe I was, but I still thought ignore meant...ignore, not win.

You act as if the opposing side is not there. For offense, that means it's like no one is blocking your rescue attempt, which usually equates to a win.

But if the Hero isn't killing the EC, how can it be winning? I guess I thought "ignore" was like "immune". :miss:

They have some similarities. They are both protect-type abilities and they both stop the other side from hurting you. But ignore goes a bit in a different direction:

- You cannot target the ignored character
- The numbers in battle are not taken into account
- If a Hero ignores all blocking Evil Characters, the rescue attempt is successful
- If an Evil Character ignores all rescuing Heroes, the block is successful

The rulebook also describes a situation in detail:
Quote
You are rescuing with Servant Angel, a silver brigade Hero with abilities of 5/6 and the special ability, “Holder may draw a card.” After you play Servant Angel into the Field of Battle, you immediately draw a card. Your opponent then blocks with Shechem, a pale green brigade Evil Character with abilities of 6/7. Since Servant Angel is losing, you have initiative and play The Sixth Seal, a silver brigade enhancement with abilities of 2/2 and the special ability, “Hero ignores pale green brigade.” Servant Angel will pass by Shechem as though Shechem is not there and will make a successful rescue. Your opponent must negate the “ignore” special ability or the rescue will succeed, and each character will be returned to his owner’s territory.

I actually am not using King David yet. but the deck does work. I beat a speed deck after coming back from 4-0. I also beat a heroless. the one loss I had was to Egyptians anti-egyptian deck. plus I need site access. I'll have my deck up soon

I actually find Heman still quite useful in my musician's deck.  The day you don't draw your Chambers until the bottom of your deck and you've got four battle winners in your hand that you can't use, you'll see the value of Heman, even in a world where Chambers exists.
