Multiplayer?

Please pardon me if this is the wrong forum, I am new to everything Redemption...

My question is how would multiplayer (3-way, 4-way, etc) work for Redemption, provided it was free-for-all of course. I know how it works for Magic and Yu-ghi-oh, but this game is baffling me in that aspect. Thanks in advance!

Multiplayer is an official category in Redemption. That being said, it's pretty dumb. I won 3rd in Multi at Nationals...accidentally. That should tell you a lot right off the bat.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

It works like a standard game. You go around the table taking turns, first to 5 wins. You can play dominants at any time to stop opponents, or use things like Unholy Writ to manipulate you winning.

But like Pol said, it's pretty dumb because it's generally just tossing lost souls around the table.

I'm probably not the best at explaining things, but the rules actually assume the possibility for multiplayer. You pick who you attack and they get the choice to block.

You opponent means the one you are battling (if during battle anyway).

If you are more specific about questions I can probably answer most of them (or alternatively someone else will probably be able to)
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.

Wow... multiplayer has taken some serious backlash since I left. Considering you're a new member, definitely try multiplayer. it's a ton of fun, especially playing with a couple friends.

Basically, you go clockwise taking turns. Your turn goes like normal, except you get to choose who you attack. Other opponent's you're NOT attacking can't block for that person or play enhancements on his characters, but they can play dominants or activate artifacts. You can only rescue a lost soul from the territory of the person you attacked.

Oh, so it's similar to how MTG treats multiplayer? Redemption feels like a good 2 player game as opposed to MTG... Thanks for your help.

We have two-headed giant format as well. It's much better than Multiplayer.

Just fyi, I'm pretty sure yugioh doesn't have multiplayer. ;)

But yeah I've heard from some friends it's very similar to MTG. There's a couple tricky questions, like can a player not blocking activate unknown nation or gates of hell, but most of it should be pretty straight forward.

Type 1 multi is a terrible category, defense matters so little in it, and so much of it is simply luck and table position.  Type II multi on the other hand, can be quite amazing.
