So does a multiplayer game work the same way as a two player game or are there other rules?  At what point do you think there are too many players?

The max for multi-player is 5. If you have 6 players, you should split into two games of 3.

Mostly the same rules except that no one draws in the first round of play.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Is that the official number or how many you have found out is too many just playing around?  Are there many MP events?

This is the official rules if you play Type 1 or Type 2 Multi-player.  At your playgroup, if you really wanted to play a 6 man table, you can, but that is only fun if your group makes it that way!

i did an 8 player game, and i think we only enjoyed it because we were all friends and had a side conversation going on too. otherwise, it was SUPER long and SUPER boring. 5 is definitely the max imo and from my experience.

Edit: when i say super long, i mean like 3 and a half hours long. 2 people dropped out after about 2 and a half hours. i'm not even sure we finished... :-\

Yeah, our group used to do 5 player multi about every week since that was the full playgroup.  The best quote was "I won't win now, but you won't either."  We always had a couple of annoying decks and when they got their SoG with and hand or deck discard that was always the quote to come soon!  Then we got really crazy and did a 5 player booster draft that was continuous for several months!

We used to occasionally do 12ish player T1 multiplayer games... It's hard to describe them, but they were mostly determined by who's turn was next after the dominants ran out. We also had someone writing down relevant artifacts so that everyone had a vague idea what was affecting them (this was probably around Kings through Priests so there were less active abilities that impacted the entire table, and they were mostly artifacts).
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.
