Personally I'd never run 2 good fortresses especially the three (maybe four but I'm not sure ) ones that play to set aside

Very little hits good forts in territory, but slightly less affects those in set-aside since the default for abilities is "in play." Therefore, the forts you set aside are generally going to be slightly more protected than those you just put in play, leaving you with more hand clog.
Because if you have another copy of the fortress in your deck and you draw it you can't play it if you already have one out so it just sits in your hand.
