The battle phase is back. Many, many deck types are viable. This game has never been more fun.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I still like FBTN as far as battles go. Those were the days...

I agree though, Disciples has little fluff, created new types, and strongly reinforced others. Pharisees, Magicians, and Kings of Judah are finally coming out strong. Not sure I'm entirely happy with the sites, but still, deck building is more challenging, games are more intense.

I still don't like the (apparent) complete destruction of ignore as an ability, but other than that the set is definitely awesome.

I agree with you that the new cards could potentially open up the game a lot, but they really messed up with DoU+Golgotha.  That combo is move'n almost every1 to Brown/PG on defense.  Magic Charms + 2k horses on King Manassah.  Use'n Gib Trick, Haman's Plot, Forgotten History.  Just the same ole', same ole'.

Not nearly as broken as all that, and easily, easily countered. I predict maybe a month until people realize how easy it is to counter and then defenses will diversify again.

I'm actually disappointed in Disciples. Nothing is jumping out at me as exciting. Almost everything is usable, but not fantastic.

Weren't you the one saying Manasseh was OP? Or are you just referring to the Golgotha recursion part?

Golgotha recursion is lame in T1. Combo decks are what it's for.

TexP did? Besides Mayhem, of course...

Mayhem, Gates, Philly Outpost, and Nebbuchadnezzar would be on my "exciting" list, in addition to the new territory class. I guess I like Birth Foretold and Golgotha for Disciples, but they're not as fun....

Okay, Gates is good too. Nebby is pretty "exciting" but Philly Outpost? Really? Yeah, they made phillies playable, but it's not that great of a card by itself.
Territory class was cool. Definitely didn't think of that. Stalks of Flax was pretty awesome too...but not playable.

Job is a pretty awesome theme. You can't deny that.
Scribes. Momentum Change recursion!
Golgotha is meh. Necessary to kill TGT, but...
Thaddeus is pretty cool.
Manasseh.
Wash Basin
Suicidal Swine Stampede (just for that name)
Judas' Plot...as much as I hate it...
Herod's Temple...as much as I hate it...

instaposted. aaand I hate Magnificat.

I do like the fact that Angel Wars is included.  A lot of my new players like to start off with Silver brigade, and this makes it much easier for them to get the rares.  Personally, I wish they'd still included the one Warriors card.
