Title: Luke Offenses
Post by: Minister Polarius on September 02, 2009, 12:46:48 AM
Wow did I underestimate Luke Heroes. Just...wow. I won't spoil his combo in case it isn't mainstream, but I played Smokey Soul Seeker and wow.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about   :(.

Well Luke Heroes have a few pretty awesome combos. Paired with A-bom, Luke Heroes are the coolest force in the universe. 8)

Oh...wow...uh, guys. Wow. I just played with it for the first time and won on like turn 3. I didn't physically win until later because I drew no offense until like forever, but this deck is just insane.

Oh snap. I'm curious. I've done so much fiddling around with Luke offenses lately... grr

Somehow, I managed to pack Judges, Luke, Greeks, Philistines, and Sitelock into 63 cards. I never even used a battle-winner last game other than JiP, and that was mostly to get rid of an access Site. The deck is fast, too. You draw anywhere from two to seven additional cards every single turn. Philistine Outpost speeds you up, Zaccheus speeds you up, Meeting the Messiah speeds you up...there's just no downside to this deck except maybe a bit of a void of battle-winners. But that's not an issue when your territory destruction is off the chain.

Ok, I'm a relative novice here.  Are these the new cards that just came out a couple of weeks ago?  Or am I missing an opportunity with some cards I have?

Thanks.

Many of them are new cards from the Thesaurus ex Preteritus expansion.

I hope when you say Luke offense, that includes my favorite hero, who is actually from John, The Woman at the Well. I'd say no gold offense is complete without her. An unnegatable way to get a Lost Soul AND expose opponents' EC's to territory destruction? Yes please.

Yeah, he was talking about my game with him in this post.  and I was playing a demon defense.  True it wasn't a really GOOD demon defense but this isn't just all about conversion.  It is tough

I did that as well. Congrats. It's epic isn't it?

oh noes!  We've had to put off getting the new expansions due to unimportant things like home repairs/renovations.  I know where my next paycheck is going.  I can't wait!

Counting the moments until we can be playing with these new expansion cards.

Don't worry about it. A deck specifically designed to stop a Luke/John offense wouldn't fare any better than a regular deck. OP OP OP!

Then let me give a word of warning...I've struggled against the NT women.

IMO, they may be the OP offense.

I still have some tinkering to do.

I use an N.T. Women speed deck as well, and I find Luke/John to be far more effective when paired with Judges.
