Is it more useful in MP or 2P?  I don't like it in general...

I assumed it's better in MP beings one failed rescue has a greater impact on MP then it does on 2p.

I'd rather not kill cards off of my deck (or hand).  I've used it once, ever, to stop a RDJ.

Sauce, that's what I thought.

It's amazing in 2-Player.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

yeah i had that same initial reaction but so long as your not using it when you have 4 souls saved and it has a high x value the few lost csards really aren't that bad especially if you tend to play decks with a high recursion factor to them

So if I get a quick two or three redeemed, then draw HT, it's a dead card?  Wonderful.

not necessarily its just a matter of how well you can get discarded cards back

If you get a quick 3 you won't be needing any cards other than SoG and NJ, so I guess every card in your deck that doesn't defend or draw is a dead card at that point.

Ht is great in every open catagory. It shines in both of the multies when you can be hit by 3x Christian Martyr and espcially in in type 2 muilti player because A. it thins out the deck and B. it is less likely you will hit a crucial card, and if you do you will most likely have more in your deck anyways.

So if I get a quick two or three redeemed, then draw HT, it's a dead card?  Wonderful.

No, you will probably get to 3 or 4 with it. Plus it can also hold crucial artifacts and protect you defense if you really needed it to.

If you are using a Temple (so you can hold an artifact) and you aren't using Priests your best bet is Herod's Temple since it has an effect you might use (even if it is rarely), also it can be quite powerful if you are going for the win and your opponent tries to kill you, whats a card from your hand and 4 cards from your deck (or 2 if SoG, NJ are still in your hand) if you are going to win the game anyway?
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.

Herod's Temple is, in my opinion, the most balanced "neutral" card in the game. Building an offense (or defense, really) that's NT without it is foolish. On top of being able to hold many artifacts (Lampstand stands out here), it's great early game, pretty bad mid-game, and potentially phenomenal late game provided you haven't decked out yet.

Just use chariots of fire to create deck fodder late game.

0 souls: Best. There's basically no cost. Discard a hero and use Chariot later.
1 souls: Decent. Still hardly a cost. The chances of hitting an essential card are pretty slim.
2 souls: Not very good. If you haven't played SoG/NJ, it's risky and it's probably better waiting, but odds are likely in your favor.
3 souls: Awful. Especially if you haven't played SoG/NJ. You lose a card from hand and might hit something that will cost you the game.
4 souls: Second best. At this point, you'll probably win the game if you use it. Who cares if you don't have SoG/NJ?
5 souls: ¿whatdidyoudo?

2P. In multi you need every battle winner you can get. Hitting even one could be devestating.

I like it a lot better in multi than I do in 2 player, and a lot more in T2 then T1.

My reasoning is that in theory unless I make a mistake and give you initiative to drop a RDJ or Simon enhanced Wrath of Stan without Thad-Rad-The-Mad in battle the only discard I need to realistically worry about is CM - and Lay down your Life works much better for that - No cost from hand or deck, can't be stopped by Destructive Sin, can't be targeted by fortress discarders, etc.
