At a very intense local T2 multi game Assyrians and Assyrian/Magicians seemed to hold up very well against a variety of offenses.
Retired?

A very intense game considering ProffessorAlstad played half the game with out all his nuteral cards. Defense dose hold up much better if their are no LS to defend. And considering that three out of four defenses were pale green.

I'm honestly a pretty big fan of Cannanites. What's not to love about them - They've got a play first that can't be discarded with I am Grace, etc. A CBN single target kill. An 'End the Battle' card. Decent banding options, GREAT characters - Oh, and a miniature Cov W/ Death in Tower.

Phars were popular for three reasons: they were fast, they had auto-wins (Just a Hireling, Baalam's Disobedience, Gold Shield), and they had play next.  We've had four defenses mentioned: Egyptians, Assyrians (w/ Magician splash), Cannanites, and Babs.  Overall, I'd say that Assyrians win it, but Egyptians are faster (Finally!).  It'll be up to the decktype to determine it.  Of all these, Cannanites don't have the speed all of the other mentioned defenses have (in their horses).  They have power, but not the versatility the others have.  Assyrians have the best options that T2 players want in their defenses.

Lot's Wife+Woman of Thebez is a +2. That's the same as every other defense except Egyptians. They also have the best evil enhancement in the game for multiplayer so I'll take it a little slower if I have too.

Good assessment, however, Magicians with an Assyrian splash>Assyrians with a magician splash.

So, two characters for D2.  Egyptians and Assyrians can both D8 off of horses alone, and Babs have Dream/Horses/A nice bit of search.

Thanks!  Could you explain to me how Magicians (who I've never seen as anything more than a splash T1 defense) do so well in T2?

Div and Charms are the only Magician-specific cards.  Why form your whole defense around that?  What characters are you using?

Confusion is a strong candidate for best EE in 2Player, However in multiplayer it probably doesn't even make my top 5.

They can play all the same cards Assyrians can, and their character abilities are in general way better. They also can make use of Divination, Invoking Terror, and Magic Charms. Manasseh can use horses. The only main advantage Assyrians have is the Archers (assuming Survivors and ASA's comprise the splash), but they are usually easily shut down in T2 multi by some sort of negating done by heroes (Isaiah w/Call, Daniel, Sam stopping Horses, etc.). Not only that, Damsel is NT so putting Charms on her is able to be backed up by Herod's Temple. Damsel, Egyptian Magicians, and Astrologers can all be used to draw without depending on Horses. And Magicians have Balaam, who is an absolute beast, especially in conjunction with CwD.
