You may capture this Hero to opponent’s Land of Bondage to take an idol and add your priest from hand, deck, territory or Reserve to battle.

Question
Do you have to take an idol so that you can put this card in  opponents land of bondage and then you can add a priest from hand, deck, territory or reserve to battle ?

No. The cost is the capture ability. The benefit once the cost is paid is taking an idol and adding the priest. You carry out as much of the benefit as possible, which could just be taking an idol. It also just could be adding the Priest. It could also be neither (capturing just for soul gen for next turn if you don’t have a Priest to add)

But for clarification, you DO have to pay the cost in order to gain either of the benefits.

That’s what we thought but it’s just the wording that got me I guess.
