King David (P)Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Purple • Ability: 11 / 11 • Class: None • Special Ability: May not be blocked by any member of any royal family. • Play As: King David ignores all members of a royal family. • Identifiers: OT Male Human, King & Musician (Israel), Royalty, Prophet, Fought Earthly Battle • Verse: I Samuel 17:37 • Availability: Promotional cards (2001 Solomon's Temple Game)Does King David ignore himself, as he is a member of a royal family?
The "may not be blocked by" is another way of saying "ignores" however, the "blocked by" phrase also implies that the characters that are ignored are only Evil Characters, not King David himself or other Hero royalty, since Heroes do not block Heroes. (If a royal Hero was converted to an EC, then it would be ignored by King David.)
I don't see this being an issue for the most part, ignore just means that that character acts as if the other were never in battle which doesn't matter because the heroes are not targeting each other for anything.
Does this mean that KD's ability should be treated as: "King David ignores all evil members of a royal family." ?
1. He cannot ignore himself, no issue.I've never heard this from an elder. Did I miss something?2. He can ignore himself, but would he still rescue the ls? The evil character isn't losing... but also King David is being ignored... by himself...This is what the play-as (which is actually correct) seems to say.I don't even know how 2 would work. So then would you get endless initiative with a purple hero? Because that'd be cool (assuming the new ignore rule changes doesn't go into effect). So I'd go with 1. Makes more sense.

QuoteDoes this mean that KD's ability should be treated as: "King David ignores all evil members of a royal family." ?Yes, we are also discussing making a general rule that cards cannot ignore cards of their own alignment. Therefore King David would not ignore other Royal Heroes, but Household Idols would still ignore Heroes with a banding ability.

The question is asking does Ignore mean Heroes banded into Battle if a Character ignores something (example, If KD bands to Prince Jonathan, does he Ignore and kick Johnathan out because he ignores Royals or not?)Also, if we really wanted to ignore rules FTW just ignore the 1 battle per game limit and Initiative and Hand Limits.Watch out here I come breakin' all the rules! Lol
