Icon for Lost Souls?

Just thought about this today.  Lost Souls are the only card type in the game with no icon to define them, and instead are simple labeled 'Lost Soul' on the top of each card.  This may have been fine when they all had no ability and thus had no reason to tell them apart.  Recent sets have been using the identifier box to differentiate them, but would it not be simpler to just have an icon specific to Lost Souls and then name them what the identifiers are now?  Or is there a reason this hasn't been done?  Any ideas about good icons to use?

The fact that they are the only card without an icon an actual name along the top of the card is enough to differentiate them imo. I think the identifier is enough to tell them apart although I could see that being put in the name area (Since there's so much free space without an icon). I could easily see something like ( Lost Soul "Wanderer" ) in the name area.

When we first looked at putting the Lost Soul name on the cards during RoJ testing we had the name in the title. After discussing with the leadership it was decided to have it in the identifier with quotes. I'm glad the Lost Soul names are finally on the card!

If we were doing a Redemption 2.0 it makes sense to consider using an icon for Lost Souls. I'm not sure that it does at this point in the game though.

Part of the purpose of the card icon at the top left is to make the card type stand out when you have them fanned out in your hand. Since Lost Souls never stay in your hand it makes sense that they chose not to use an icon at the games inception.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

In a bit of an "odd" way, the "icon" for a Lost Soul is the absence of an icon  :P

Yeah that's fair.  Just thought that with all of the new design changes recently - card size, abilities off pictures, dual alignment icon separation - that it would be something fun to think about.

It's a old school thing having cards without icons. Lost Souls are the only real "resource" we have in Redemption. Most old school games from the time period did not have icons on their resources.

MTG lands are laid out very similar to our lost souls and Pokemon energy tokens are both good examples of games from the time period that have a similar layout to our lost souls.

For other players that weren't around, remember we only had one special ability lost soul until Womens and we were still forced to use no special ability lost souls until Angel Wars when the game finally had enough lost souls that players could make decks with only special ability souls. The game had no need for a icon back in the day.

If anything I think Lost Souls should have even more art to them and no icons. Something akin to what MTG is doing with their full art lands. I'm not sure how this could be accomplished... since everyone uses Special Ability souls which have oodles of text... but it would definitely add even more visual flare to Redemption!

I think it would be really cool if the next starter decks had full art/borderless generic Lost Souls. They would see plenty of play in Sealed and Booster.
