This may be an obvious question but...do you still have to match a brigade color of the "placed" enhancement to an evil character in your territory or can you just play "place" enhancements willy nilly regardless of brigade color?

They have to match a character in your territory. I foresee Self seeing a lot more play...  ::)

No, you have to block first, and it has to be successful. High Places says "enhancements."

Hey Mr. Guardian sir, the REG does not say that the enhancements must match the brigade color of a character in your territory.  Are you sure about that?

Actually it does.  Whenever an enhancement is played, it needs a character of the same brigade to play it.  Actually, that idea would be found more in the rulebook, although the REG does say it too.

is there a limit per turn?

Nump.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Unless the card specifically limits the ability to play a number of enhancements, you can play as many fall into the qualifiers, in this case, enhancements with the words "Place" in the text.

If I am not mistaken, you place Abomination in a single opponent's territory.  It also says each time opponent draws.  Opponent here is singular, refering to the territory it is in.

So if I am reading it right, it would only affect the player that has it in their territory.

It would be interesting to see someone attempt a High Places strat in multiplayer so as to try and prevent the zanyness of speed decks in multiplayer.

That may be true, but if your opponent(s) aren't able to win the game, by default you cannot be losing the game.  One of the things a High Places strat allows for is the application of enhancements that in the environment wouldn't be played.  So the idea here is to let defense get used even though it normally wouldn't be able to.

I disagree that defenses don't win games. They don't rescue souls per say... but Women as Snares can hands down win games. If you opponent can't block.... it's easy to win souls. And if your defense can make it so that they can't block, like with head of gold or women as snares... then I'd say defenses can indirectly win games.  :)

he [Amon] just isnt good enough, his numbers need to go up.

If I'm pulling an evil enhancement out of my discard pile, more often than not I want to have initiative to play said enhancement...I think his numbers are great.

That's not really a defensive play though.  That's just using an evil character to do the work your heroes would normally be doing.

Tim Maly told me that defense wins games after he beat me at regionals, so I think we can agree agree that that statement is true beings Tim is never wrong. Ever. Period.
