Besides a-bomb, can high places be a legitimate addition to a defense?
-
High Places is one of the best cards in TxP. The ability to play Abom without blocking... oh wait...
I think yes. It is especially powerful in site lockout defenses because you can play Danites (sp) Attack, Land Purchase, and in a pinch, DoM.
-
While Abom is the best use of High Places, it can also be handy in Crimson (Set Fire), Gold (Seemingly Insignificant, Spreading Mildew), Orange (buncha cards), Black Sitelock (Danites Attack), and Brown Sitelock (Threatened Lives, Land Purchase). Alternately, Philistines and Herods have the ability to utilize all "place" cards in a turtle.

cept pale green for phillies. sin in the camp, lying in wait, and leprosy would have been so awesome. :(
-
Leprosy doesn't work with High Places...*grumble*
-
im pretty sure it does...last i checked, it was ruled 'placed' = 'place'.
-
That is the better ruling and the ruling I wanted, but alas it is not the case.
-
really? wierd. i coulda swore bryon ruled it that way. do you have a link to the correct ruling?
-
Actually, Bryon said in this post (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=16258.msg254295#msg254295) that he would be fine either way. Earlier in that thread, Schaef said that Bryon said only "place" not "placed".
-
so yes, we are allowed to use ones with placed?
-
I don't think so. Bryon said originally he planned for only "place" but he was open to both sides if it was debated. Right now, IMHO, it is only "place".

It is only "place" I brought this up to Bryon a while ago and thats what he told me.
