Haman's Plot

I was out at my church camp last week and we have a ton of people who play Redemption. I was watching a game and someone played Haman's Plot. The person he was playing said that it didn't work because he didn't tear the card in half. This made me think that common sense would say not to tear the card. So my question is, Do you have to tear Haman's Plot in order for it to work?

in tournament play, if you want the special ability to work you must tear it. in casual play, you dont have to tear it for it to work.

You should agree on that beforehand. There is no rule that says "you don't have to tear this in casual play." His opponenent was well within his rights to insist it be torn if the special ability is used. Keep in mind, you can just play it for the numbers (not use the special ability) and then you don't have to tear it.

Yes, you must rip the card for it to work in tournament play.  In fact, I ripped 3 of the at Nationals.

When playing with my friends or online we don't rip Haman's Plot, we simply remove it from the game so that it cannot be gotten back and used twice.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

actually, i seem to remember rob ruling it that way regarding plots in casual matches; you dont have to rip it to use the special ability.

I stand corrected. I like that rule.

Ok next time I use it and/or see someone use it, I will clarify this.

In all unofficial games and ROOT, ripping is not required.  The ability works, and the card is simply removed from the game.

In official tournaments, ripping is required.

You make up whatever rules you want in casual play.

Yes, but I meant that ripping isn't normally required in organized, unofficial non-Cactus tournaments.

This is very true. At my camp, we use rules we call Prairie Camp Rules (using the name of the camp.) For Storehouse, we can keep all of the cards in our hands during our turn, but at the end, you must decrease down to 8 cards. For Solomon's Temple, you can place any Artifact there instead of just Temple Artifacts. We also have a rule that you can place Dominants face-down on the table instead of holding them in your hand, along with many other special rules we have created.
