What is the point of doubt?
-
hopefully your opponent cannot get up to a 12 on offense. it's also very hard to kill, since a lot of cards specify male/female, human/demon, etc. he's also great for multi, because then when you're at the line and a guy with four rescues against someone with no ec's, you can place him in that territory.
-
Have an orange guy you want to use but there is only 1 in play and TGT is out? Place down Doubt to make 2 and then block with either.
It isn't used much, but when it is, it's used in multi and/or orange and/or standalone defenses.
-
Also, because of the added rule, Doubt is basically a must have in all TEAMS decks. Free block? Yes please.
Not only that, but it was shown to be effective in multiplayer at the T2 tournament. Someone attacked me with Moses, and I had no blockers. One of the other players threw a Doubt in my territory, and my opponent had nothing to beat him. Turns out that the attacker ended up with 6 redeemed at the end of the timeout game, and if Doubt hadn't stopped him, I would not have won the tournament by a fraction of a point. So I like Doubt.

Which rule are you referring to? I really know much about TEAMS.
-
In TEAMS, Doubt is allowed to be placed directly into battle (it doesn't have to go into a territory first). So you can add it at any time, even after your initially blocker(s) was defeated.

TEAMS even makes Doubt a card worth playing. Gotta love it :)

Doubt is awesome in teams. I have it in my T2 deck currently, and it hasn't been helpful enough to justify that spot TBH.

Considering you were the guy who helped me win T2 Multi with it, I disagree... ;D
Oh you meant helpful for you? Yeah, probably not...

Why not? It's an awesome rule and it's how Doubt should have been created.

But why in TEAMS and not in any other category?

Because that isn't how the card is printed...

Are you saying that in TEAMS you play cards how they are not worded? Man, I need to exploit this...

Just Doubt ;)

What is the point of doubt?
well, it's typically used to make people disbelieve.
-
But why in TEAMS and not in any other category?
Because originally TEAMS was not official, and so we had more leeway when creating the rules for it. And as for why we would basically create an errata to Doubt, I'll refer to Cam's reasoning :)
It's an awesome rule and it's how Doubt should have been created.
-
I still dont agree with it being different in teams. It just screams abuse. I hope it gets an erratta, yet im sure it won't. Here's an idea- lets play it the way its stated or give it an errata. I need some consistancy on this one please.
-
How will it lead to abuse? Each team can only use it once, and it's pretty much like UN. For consistency, I agree it isn't a good idea to "errata" cards in different types. However, I don't see an impact to doing it this time, especially with a dom that should have been made differently IMO.
-
I attack and add it to the battle, giving me initiative. Something you dont want to do against me, i promise that.

Me too :)

#1 this is T1 so getting init one time is not going to end the game.
#2 so you have init. I play CM and you can't play. I play Grapes and you can't play. I block with someone with horses and you can't play. I block with a FBN ec and most of your cards don't work and you've just given me 12 extra defense to help out. And assuming I don't have any of that stuff, you still won't be able to play many cards before your defense is higher than my offense (since Doubt has an offense of zero), and then it's my init.
#3 despite the limitations mentioned above, I do still think you have a nice combo there to get init, and appreciate that there is a way to play Doubt to help your offense if used right. Nice find.
-
I play Grapes and you can't play.
I agree with this one, Grapes is a great card and usually stops me in my tracks. Especially since i usually play decks that come out of the gates.
-
i think that the new card spirit of temptation kindoff made doubt useless. i feel sorry for the old dominant.
-
You know, I love how the image chosen for Spirit of Temptation is the least tempting creature I've ever seen besides a crab. :P
