Title: Do you use sleeves within collecting boxes?
Post by: Reth on November 09, 2018, 07:15:46 PM
Hi there,

just out of curiosity: Do you use sleeves when having your collection within a pure cardboard box? Cards get protected but it also costs space.
(I know lots of you are using binders - but this is not the question here.  :))

Thanks for your thoughts.

Bye

I do not.

Besides space, it also requires more time to put individual cards in penny sleeves.

I have never had an issue with my cards getting damaged by any means. I always have them sleeves when playing and make sure my hands are clean if I am going through them.

Beware of younger players who might have Dorito or Cheeto hands and want to see your cards...

 ;D Thanks! Will do so.

Thought the same regarding damage and space but I fear if cards would maybe get more often taken out and sorted in maybe their borders get damaged ...

If it is a valuable card, that I will have it sleeved until I can put it elsewhere. The majority of cards I keep in my boxes are just bulk so I don't sleeve those.

I penny sleeve my personal collection and keep them in card boxes. As gk87 stated, I also try and ensure Dorito and Cheeto hands are clean before going through my bulk cards for sell or trade.

Godspeed,
Mike

Personally, I do not use extra covers for my cards. I just put them in a cardfolder. That's right for me as protection. But I also know people who do not have a simple cardfolder. You do not have to exaggerate  ;) (https://www.freecellnow.com/) With greasy hands I would of course not touch my cards.
