I'm redoing this post to clarify better, as I tend to talk too much.

New player:  "Hey, you talk about Redemption a lot, can I see some of the cards."

Me:  "Sure!  I have (3) binder(s) with every card in the game in them.  I'd love for you to look through it and see what you think!"

How should these cards be sorted to show a new player?

I currently have them sorted by type (dominant, blue hero, etc.) then alphabetically.  I like this because they can see everything that the brigade/card type has to offer.  But I also realize that it is showing them a lot of cards that shouldn't be played.

Sorting them by set would allow the player to see how far the game has progressed and which set they feel like they should start collecting first, but it doesn't necessarily show off the "true" structure of each brigade.

Which way do you feel would be best to show a new player all the cards of Redemption?

For new players its probably best to sort by type to help show them all the different abilities for cards of a certain type.

I sort by card Brigade and Type. I am bad at remembering which set a card came out in. So sorting by Brigade and Type I can quickly go to it. I have found newer players tend to be more interested in what card types do rather then what set they are in. It works for me.

That would drive me crazy having to constantly move cards each set.

My favorite way to show new players is to sort by Book and Chapter in biblical order. It lets them see the story of the Bible in pictures which is a pretty cool way to do it. I only have one card per chapter for this arrangement though, so I am not really showing them every card that way.

So cool to hear you also sort (at least some of) your cards this way!

Yeah it kind of drives me crazy, but most I have talked to see that as more beneficial.  Lately new players simply look at their favorite I/J colors and just want to look at that color to see what will help their personal deck the most.  My most active player, when he first started, actually said they weren’t ever going to play a handful of colors, so never really wanted to look at those colors.  So outside of the multi-colored stuff they didn’t have to.

I may (big maybe) do this with my second sets that I have of the newer stuff...I just can't see myself breaking up my initial sets.  But now I have 2 of CoW - FoM and soon PoC, so maybe one set in order and the other in brigade order...

I actually sort my cards both ways. If it's pre TEC, I sort it by type. If it's TEC and after, I sort it by set and rarity.

This is how I sorted mine for a long time too. I definitely see benefits to every way that has been mentioned. It also seems like the factor of whether you keep your cards in a binder or a box plays into the decisions as well.

Currently, mine are sorted by set then brigade, using boxes for storage.  I really liked having them by brigade and type when I first started, but after the much wider cars since TEC, I had to start separating by set.

I did one set of my cards that I have into the brigade order, how many binders are recommended?  Or what would be a good order to sort it this way, but also keep it flowing and well presentable??  Very interested in taking my second sets and doing this with.

So I have two 3 inch binders for only Heroes & Good Enhancements, and then Evil Characters and Evil Enhancements.  I have a 1 inch binder for everything else.  I use the clear card pages and do the cards back to back to save room.  The binders are getting pretty full, so will eventually have to move the Good & Evil books into two 2 inch binders or something.
