Title: Destruction of Nehustan
Post by: alpal455 on July 13, 2010, 04:48:41 PM
I thought that Nehushtan was the Brass Serpent but the people called it Nehushtan and burned inscense to it so therefore wouldn't that make it evil? Then why it is an evil dominant?

MKC speaks the truth you did just answer your own question but I had a simalar question if the Destruction of Nehushtan is a good thing than why is it an evil dominant.  ???

oh, good point.

That is what I have been trying to say in my first post (perhaps I did not make myself clear).

I'm guessing it's evil because it represents something evil. For example, Rizpah's sacloth is evil. However, Rizpah was doing a great thing by protecting her dead loved ones from being eaten by crows by staying there day after day with her sacloth. However, it's evil because it signifies death.

I'm guessing it's a similar instance here.

Maybe the destruction of nehustan didn't take place at the time it was broken but when the people chose to worship it as god instead of the one true God.

I never thought of this interpretation, but I like it (however why it can discard Idols, I'm not sure (aside from game mechanics))

If you read the verse on the card it says that he destroyed the high places and Nehushtan.
So there for it destroyed then.
