A tournament lost completely due to lack of LSs.

This is another post documenting an event so that I can point to it in future discussions.

I was playing Sealed Deck at the EC Regional tournament.  I started with the "F" deck, and had red and gold offense.  The cards in my packs as well as the ones I traded for added a third offense of silver (3 GCs, 4 GEs).  The defense was grey and crimson and got little help from my packs or my trades.  Best of all, one pack contained a Hopper LS, which in addition to Wedding Party and Commissioned, gave me the ability to create 3 LSs to rescue.  With my offense I felt good about my chances.

First round: My offense took every LS that my opponent drew, as well as my Hopper, and my own LS with SoG.  My defense held out until there were only about 10 cards left in either of our decks.  However, by that time my opponent had only drawn 2 LSs, which meant that I lost 5-4.

Second round: My opponent drew many LSs and I took them all, winning that game.

Third round:  My offense took every LS that my opponent drew (until the last turn).  My defense again held out until there were only about 10 cards left in either of our decks.  However, by that time my opponent had only drawn 3 LSs, and had used her own Commissioned to mess up my Hopper.  I did not draw SoG.  So I lost 5-3.

Fourth round:  My opponent drew many LSs and I took them all, winning the game.

Summary:  My offense was powerful enough to take every LS available.  I did not lose because I was being stopped by defense.  Yet my defense was also strong enough to hold out long enough to almost deck out.  I did not lose because I lacked defense and was giving LSs away.  I lost that tournament because there simply weren't LSs available to rescue, and that was using a deck with the ability to create 3 LSs.

Again, I don't fault my opponents.  They all played well with what they were given.  Those that beat me deserved the wins.  I only record this game to have a record of how the availability LS can be the deciding factor in games.
