At a very intense local T2 multi game Assyrians and Assyrian/Magicians seemed to hold up very well against a variety of offenses.
Phars were popular for three reasons: they were fast, they had auto-wins (Just a Hireling, Baalam's Disobedience, Gold Shield), and they had play next. We've had four defenses mentioned: Egyptians, Assyrians (w/ Magician splash), Cannanites, and Babs. Overall, I'd say that Assyrians win it, but Egyptians are faster (Finally!). It'll be up to the decktype to determine it. Of all these, Cannanites don't have the speed all of the other mentioned defenses have (in their horses). They have power, but not the versatility the others have. Assyrians have the best options that T2 players want in their defenses.

There good because they have dou, hero manipulation in terror, confusion (which is teh best ee btw ) and div to mill. Magic Charms is good too.
