So?
I just have never seen someone wait 9 years to start driving.

Congratulations!

I'll pray for the poor folks in Tennesee now though... ;) Kidding of course.

The key when learning to drive is to do it as much as possible. Constantly bug your parents, family members friends and strangers on the street (just kidding about that last one) to allow you to drive. Start in slow-speed, residential neighborhoods, and parking lots, until you get a feel for the pedals. Once you are feeling confident about your control of the vehicle, you can move up to the higher speed areas such as main roads and highways. Don't get frustrated when things get difficult, because they will. Before long, you'll have the freedom to come and go as you please, and maybe even make it to a few more Nationals... :)

Nah, just jump in the first F-350 Dually with a stick-shift you can find, and drive down some narrow streets with cars parked on both sides.

.. that's actually what my parents had me do. I learned really quickly.  :P
