Seeking Guidance and Life Change
« on: November 17, 2017, 11:31:22 PM »
Hey Everyone,
Before you read this: if we are Facebook friends, then please don't respond or reference there about this...this is really early info and my kids do not know yet.  However, the need for prayer is great.

My family and I need prayer.  After recent, multiple meetings, the church deacons and I have come to the mutual conclusion that we are to part ways. My kids, father-in-law, youth group, and congregation still don't know.  The deacons and I have decided not to burden them with that info until I have a more concrete lead into a new ministry.  Here is my multi-faceted request:
   1. For God to guide me into the position that fits my giftedness well.  I've been a youth pastor for 16 years total, an interim senior pastor, and an associate pastor (added responsibility of the Children's program for the past year). Which leads me to this...I'm not sure what kind of ministry to pursue now.
   2. My wife and my's emotions.  9 1/2 years is a long time at one church and there is a lot to process.
   3. My father-in-law.  He will be alone if we leave the area.
   4. My kids...there is so much behind this request that I can only leave it at that...this will rock them when we tell them.
   5. Those in my ministry. Lately, youth group has been going well, and I don't want this to hurt them spiritually.

I appreciate your consideration and covet your prayers.   :)

Hey,

I'm praying for you, your family, and your church. I can relate as I recently transitioned out of being the youth director at our church for the past 3 1/2 years. The Lord has led our family to move to the KC area. Ultimately, we have to follow Him (although it's definitely difficult at times!) and I pray for understanding and blessings for everyone involved.
