prayer for a friend of our's
« on: January 20, 2009, 08:08:48 PM »
my brothers and sisters in christ,
we have a problem.
our brother Colin Bodayle  who says he doesn't believe the bible is truth.
please pray that the holy spirit will lead him in the right direction and pray that he will learn more when he does read the bible and keep doubt out ofhis mind and his heart

i too will also pray  :prayer:

and scheaf, please don't come hard on me for this.
i ask for this request out of caring for a fellow sibling in christ, and if i was in colin's shoes and you were in mine, and you were trying to prove to me God's word is truth and i'm ignorant, you might understand and do the same thing and post a prayer request.
not trying to hurt anybody

I hate to be difficult, but who's to say he isn't the correct one? I appreciate the thought behind this, but I believe you should have worded it differently. You sound like way too condescending in that.

You should have said "Please pray with me for Colin. He says he's a christian, but he doesn't always act like it, even about important things like that Bible. I am concerned about him and his spiritual health." IMO.

Oh, and he doesn't need to know more. He needs to know less. Knowing little is not a problem with him. He's very knowledgeable, I just don't think it's knowledge that's helping him.

I'm not really sure how that adresses anything I said. How is Colin anyway? He hasn't been on the boards.

I'm not sure whether this should be here or not.  I know you have good intentions, but I feel that this could be seen differently...

When you say he doesn't believe the bible is truth, what do you mean by truth?
