Studying for CFP
« on: August 23, 2010, 07:48:26 AM »
So it looks like this week or next week I will officially begin studying for the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) exam.  From my research and talking with others, this will not be like any of the exams I've studied for before.  I'll be studying for a couple hours almost every day for the next year at least.  I've already passed the Series 66 (a securities license exam) and I've been working with retirement plans for the last 3 years, so I've got some financial knowledge that will be covered on the exam, but I would still appreciate your prayers  :)  Primarily for the will to continue to study consistently, as it is easy for me to give up or put something off when the goal is so far away.

I don't know if anyone is praying for me, but I really need it right now.  Work is really coming down hard on me, and it's really depressing when I am working overtime (on salary, so no pay benefit) every week and I come home to more work (studying).  Redemption is pretty much the one form of entertainment I have to keep me sane, and I really don't have time for it these days.  And please keep my wife in your prayers as well.  It's hard on her too, because I am trying to spend time with her, and she wants to be supportive of me in my career path.  There's just a lot of potential for the enemy to wreak some damage...

Don't give the enemy the pleasure. God will provide all the strength you need to get through the tough times. He is faithful. The harder the enemy presses, the closer you are getting to God. Fight the good fight.

I pray that God will give you physical strength to endure, as well as strengthen your marriage. God bless!

A word of encouragement to you...

When you are feeling stressed because of the long work hours and long study hours, don't be afraid to simply take a break from the studying (even if it feels like you can't) and spend time with God and your wife, preferably at the same time.  :) God will bless your obedience and give you the time and mental strength to get through all the studying.

Be blessed!

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?
