I'd like to ask for some prayer for my sister in Maryland.
Her cat, Jeffrey, had been acting weird and not eating for awhile, and she took him to the vet at the end of last week. After some tests they diagnosed him with chronic renal failure, and they wanted to run some more tests for some other symptoms he had. They kept him at the vet through the weekend because they were trying to get him to start eating again (I guess they have some medicine that's supposed to induce eating). Luckily, she was able to visit him everyday for at least a little while. They had the most positive of outlooks for him, they said that as soon as he started eating again she could take him home again....
But, then, my sister got a call this morning from the vet that Jeffrey had taken a turn for the worse and there was nothing they could do. They wanted to give him something to put him to sleep. My sister told them she wanted to be there, but the DC traffic just wouldn't let her through, and poor Jeffrey died like 2 minutes before she got there. They think his body just couldn't take all the bad stuff in it anymore.
So if you could pray for our family it would be very helpful. We all will miss Jeffrey very much, especially my sister. I know she's taking it especially hard because she wasn't there when he finally went, and the usual doubts and second-guesses that go along with something like this.
