Prayer for my son

As this year continues to bring difficulty for me and my family, please pray for my oldest son Joshua. He was playing board games with friends when he suddenly left the table and collapsed in the kitchen. He is having severe pains in an area where he had surgery as a child. He has had no problems with it all these years. He is currently in the ER. They just completed an ultrasound, among other tests. We're awaiting results.

Ultrasound is clear, so that's good news. Still some concerns to watch over the next few days. He is being discharged with bed rest and Percocet. We appreciate your prayers.

No relapses so far. He is still sore, but the pain in manageable. He has been relegated to bedrest this week because he needs to be recovered for next week, when he starts his freshman year at Southeastern University. We have been debating whether to have him use a wheelchair for the first week. Not exactly the first impression he wanted to make starting college.

I assume that Joshua's already started college at this point.  How is everything going with this medical situation as well as the normal adjusting to college stuff?  I'm praying for your wonderful family.

It definitely was. His original surgeon had said that he may have problems with it in the future, and it would never truly go away. I guess we just got complacent when he had no symptoms for almost 15 years.

I assume that Joshua's already started college at this point. 

Yes. He started college and is loving it so far. He is in the Honors Program, so he has been working hard. God provided complete scholarships to pay for his tuition. We fell short of getting him enough to live on campus, so we drop him off as a commuter student for now (we only have one car). This week he has had a ton of extra work as the professors try to figure out how to make up for missing over a week of classes after Hurricane Irma. The university had lost power for several days.
