Hey guys, so the title of this post has kind of a triple meaning:
1. We all play a game called redemption in which we all take turns.
2. I like birds, and one type of bird is a tern
But the point of this post is to tell you guys some exciting news:
I have just got off the phone to a guy called Mike who works at Scripture Union Western Australia (SUWA for short, but just simply SU in this post from now on) regarding an opportunity to be an SU Intern in 2017!
Scripture Union is a Non-Profit Youth Camping Ministry that has programs such as school camps, holiday camps, school programs, a drama crew, and other fantastic youth centred ministries.
I have been considering this internship as a possibility since October, after leading on a school camp I helped lead on for my friend who was team leading the camp. The school we were running the camp for is the only secular public school to partner with SU for it's school camp, and they have been with SU for 20 odd years!
That camp was my 2nd with SU, and it impacted me so much that I seriously started to entertain youth ministry as a pathway. I have been a leader at my church's Senior Youth Group for the past 2 school terms this year, and I have seen so many changes in my life and also the lives of the children I am investing in every Friday night. I also have been told by multiple people that they can see me doing really well in youth work, with one of my friends even telling me her mum had commented about how great a primary school teacher she thought I would be.
After lots of prayer, discussion and eventually telling some very important people in my life that I was thinking about it, I am proud to say that I have said yes to being an SU Intern in 2017! I am really excited and I look forward to the year ahead. Please be praying for me and the other interns who will be journeying with me next year, I will appreciate bountifully.
