Title: Pneumonia
Post by: YourMathTeacher on January 09, 2009, 06:46:27 PM: If so inclined, please pray for me and my 2-year-old daughter. I have walking pneumonia and I may have passed it on my daughter. The doctor said that she has bronchitis and an ear infection, but not pneumonia.... so far. They want to check her again on Monday, especially after all my chest x-rays and bloodwork come back. I missed school on Wednesday, but I tried to go back yesterday and today. We have final exams next week and I didn't want to leave my students hanging. That, however, may not have been wise since I started having chest pains and breathing problems and left early today. I feel better after taking a long nap, but my whole body is sore.

I say most of this as a word of caution, especially to those who are stubborn like me. I had a sinus infection last week that I decided to not go to the doctor for. I figured I could just ride it out and control the symptoms with antihistimine and decongestant, which has worked in the past. However, it did not work this time. Instead, the infection made its way into my lungs and now I'm really suffering.

My advice: go to the doctor and pay the cheaper cost earlier, rather than go to the doctor without a choice and pay the higher costs of a more serious condition later.

Make sure you let me know when you're coming down to Orlando, so we can prepare festivities. There's always room at our place for you or the NY Crew to stay. My son would love to have a Brawl tournament with Reggie, Christian, and Claude. ;D

pneumonia is a form of Bronchitis but amplified (a chest cold)
