Our situation
« on: September 20, 2009, 10:48:56 PM »
Hi all,

I would like to make any serious prayer warriors aware of the situation my family has found ourselves in. We are a single income family with 3 homeschooled children. In late December last year I found myself laid off from my job of 11 years. I am a pastor of a small congregation (too small for it to be a paid position) and therefore find it impossible to work on Saturday (we meet on Saturdays). This has made it difficult to find work. I am finding myself becoming desperate as new challenges to my faith appear, seemingly, weekly.

My wife started having a debilitating neurological problem in March and we are still dealing with that. We prefer Holistic treatment over conventional medicine, which really doesn't matter because when I lost my job, the insurance wasn't far behind. The Holistic treatments are actually cheaper than the conventional, but they still add up.

My truck is now in the shop and I can't even do side jobs to make ends meet until I get it back.

I am not trying to sound whiny, just giving you guys the info. I still feel very blessed to have a roof over my head and we haven't been going hungry. That is a testament in and of it's self to how Great our God is.

Please be in prayer for my wife and my work situation as I aggresivly search for a job. I am also planning to try and go back to school this winter, so prayer there too please.

Thank you all for your time in reading this and please pray the Father's will in these situations. I don't ever want to go where He has not sent me.

Blessings

Kevin

You and your family are in our prayers. It is always tough to go through the low times, but it is always amazing how God carries us every step of the way when we allow Him to work His will in our lives.

Godspeed,

Something I have learned recently, having lost my job, home and almost everything I owned.

God always wants to give us his best, and take us to a better place.  But in order to do that, we either have to let go of what we have, or he has to take it from us to give us what he wants us to have.  Unfortunately I learned that lesson the hard way the first time.

Jeremiah 29:11-14

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.

Our prayers go with you brother.

I'd like to know more about your situation so that I could perhaps give some suggestions, or think of you if I hear of something that would fit you well.

What are you trained to do?  Are you willing to move to find a new job?  What is the neurological problem?  Will you need your new job to provide insurance?

Just giving an update.

On Sunday night to Monday night, my wife and I were observing the day of Atonement fast with the rest of our congregation. Due to her medical condition, I advised her against a total fast (she said she felt up to it). By the time we were about an hour and a half from breaking the fast, she was getting all numb and her muscles in her hands and face were tightening up. Her balance was getting worse and she was very worried. Before the fast, she had been telling me that she felt about 90-95% normal. We all convinced her to go ahead and eat something.
She immediately started feeling better. On Tuesday, I asked her how she felt and she said that she was felling 98% normal (even better than before the fast).

Wedensday morning I got a text message to call a company back regarding an application I put in online. When I called, they needed to do an over the phone interview. After that, the lady said that she is recomending me for the position and should hear something in a few weeks. If I am hired at this company, I stand to make up to $10 more per hour than I was making at my last job. However, I do not want any job that God does not want me to have. If you are praying for my Job then I ask you to pray His will not mine.

My truck is fixed and running great. We leave for Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) on Friday. I will be using the truck to pull our camper 3 hours away. I am praying for a safe and uneventful drive.

Thank you all for your continued prayers.
And the Lord will descend with a SHOUT, with the VOICE of the Archangel, and the TRUMPET of God.
