My wife and I
« on: February 17, 2009, 09:18:19 AM »
About two and a half weeks ago my wife and I found out she was pregnant. Last week she had some cramping and she knew something was wrong. Friday she started spotting blood and then it started getting worse and last night she started cramping. The doctors have already confirmed that she is having a miscarriage.  Emotionally we are getting through this but physically my wife is really struggling with the cramps. The worst part is that she knows that the cramps means its a miscarriage.  Please pray that this miscarriage goes quickly so that she is able to start the recovery process.
I never want to grow up, hmmm maybe thats why I'm a youth pastor.

Josh, I feel so badly for you and your wife  :'(

My wife and I have had 3 miscarriages and they were the most painful experiences of my life.  Each one was different.  The first one tore my wife apart, but hardly affected me.  We think that perhaps I didn't allow myself to deal with things to stay strong for her.  The second one was easier for my wife, but caused me to fall apart.  The third one was not as difficult for either of us emotionally, but was very challenging spiritually as I have never been able to figure out what purpose was in that situation.

I say all this for a few reasons.  The first is to let you know that you are not alone.  The second is to let you know that your experience may be different than other people's, or even different than your own if you have more than one.  The third is to encourage you that you can get through it with God's help, just like we have.

Tragedies like this always bring people closer to God and closer to each other, or push people farther away from God and farther away from each other.  I will pray that for you and your wife that this experience will be the former for you.

Thank you everyone.  Monday wasn't as bad because we knew it was happening, but monday night got tougher as she started having bad cramps and then she didn't sleep much at all monday night.  Today she is still cramping but with tylenol the pain is not as bad.  Its still hard but we are getting through it.  She works at the church as the office administrator so the senior pastor is very understanding of the situation and is having her stay home for a few days.  We haven't told the church simply because that just might be too much to handle at the moment so I am really blessed to have this group of believers praying for us.

I understand what you mean, but it is important to have as many prayers as possible.  :prayer:

they are constant for the past day and a half.  We believe that much of what needs to pass out of her system already has.  We will just have to get another ultrasound to confirm everything is out and she wont need surgery to remove it. When its less then 3 months they usually don't need to do sugery

That must be very difficult and saddening.  I will definitely pray for you and your wife during this hard time.  My mom had a miscarriage before having my older sister.
