My family
« on: November 21, 2012, 06:17:07 PM »
My dad is living by himself and his health isn't doing very well right now. soon he will come live with us but I'm afraid for his well being. also, my sister, last month got pregnant and this month had a miscarriage. she may or may not be able to have kids in the future, depending on if anything was damaged. so please pray for my family because right now is kind of rough being in school and not being able to do anything to help them right now.
thanks, prayers are very much appreciated.

You know I'm already praying for you and your family.  And as for feeling like you can't do anything to help because you're in school, I would disagree.  You can pray for them which I'm more and more convinced is the most powerful help of all.  You also can do your best in school so that there is one less thing for your parents to worry about, and something positive in the family that they can point at to cheer themselves up.

I know you are Prof. Underwood. thank you I appreciate that but i hate the idea of feeling useless i mean grades are one thing but its expected of me because everyone else in my family was honor roll just not me until this year. its hard to pray when its hard to trust. right now thats my biggest obstacle cause i grew up thinking that i shouldnt trust anyone cause it will backfire like it always did, so i dont trust anyone. i mean we prayed in class several times for her and i prayed a lot on my own and look what happened? i dont understand that. its just that its a big thing right now because its a first time in my family my mom never had any of them and she had 4 healthy kids, 1 with complications, which explains some things. its not for me i can get over this at some point. i just want my family to be safe. especially my dad because at this point he is 2x your age and having health problems.

It is hard to understand when God doesn't answer our prayers the way that we hope He will.  I understand your frustration.  Sometimes we are able after a while to see why God had a better plan than we were thinking.  But sometimes we never really see the reasons, and just have to choose to trust God's plan anyway.  This takes faith and is especially hard when dealing with emotionally difficult things like the death of loved ones.

Don't give up though.  God is good all the time, even when it doesn't seem like it.

That is true. I have prayed practically the same prayer fotr over a year a.d it still hasnt happened. Parts probabally never will of mine. That doesnt mean im not listened to. It means it isnt the right time for the time being.

yeah, thats true. oh, and she found out that she can have kids by the way. but its just confusing the way everything turned out because its not just my sister either, its my dad too. i mean, most of my prayers were for my sister because it seemed like a bigger situation. but with my dad things so far are normal. even though less of the time  spent praying went to him. thats why im confused with that. the main problem is its not just 1 big thing and a few tiny things. its a lot of small things on top of each other and i know what you mean wyatt. it just seems like being ignored. even though im not.

Knowing that God is their, and that he is doing works in you life is a very hard thing to realize! I know because i have the same problem. But i just encourage you to keep on trusting that God is still there, like my pastor Mr. Clark said, you should but shouldnt worry about your dad, because God has known him and thought about him before you, and he was born. Ive had problems with this as well, but just knowing that God has been on my case and my biological parents case, makes me feel like i dont have to worry about things. The reason is because God gots my back and has a plan for me.
Jeremiah 29:11
"For i know the plans i have for you," declares the Lord,"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

I'll be praying for you and your family, Kay!
