I Have a Praise Report/Prayer Request :)

Hey folks, it has been a long time since I have posted a thread of my own, but some new things have come into my life and I now have a huge praise report. For those of you who may have seen my prayer request last year might recall that I was applying for a certain position on a legislative forum. As God willed, I did not get accepted last year, and I now see that I would have been unprepared if I had been accepted.

However, things have changed this year. After sending my application, I discovered with great pleasure that I have been accpeted into this forum! However, the challenges for this year will be numerous, so I will need prayers. I would like any of you to pray for the following:

1. That I would remain unbending whenever my faith is tested
2. That pride will not overcome me in my position
3. That God will guide me and instruct me to do his will through this forum

Thanks to all, and espescially to God for giving me this privilege.

Thanks, Mike! I wish I could agree with the humility bit, but that is an area that I am constantly trying to work on. Hence, the prayer request. Your prayers are so very welcome.

In short, this program is a forum which is centered on the youth of my state. Each of the members ahve been appointed by senators to carry out this task. We are all expected to hold community meetings and come to an agreement to pass one bill on to legislature. I still have to partake in an interview with the senator. I suspect that all of the duties of my position will be outlined for me then.

what was your prayer request last year?

That I would get accepted into this program.

Each college sent their top political science students (though I was conviently informed about it while taking a gen ed history class) as representatives to occupy the house and the senate, from which we formed committees and elected student officials (everything from governer to a supreme court). We then debated, voted on, and ammended bills which go from our congress to the state's committees. It's a great way to both aquire political allies and experience state politics. Many current politicians are alumni of this program: TISL (Tennessee Intercolligiate State Legistlature).

We should definitely discuss politics sometime over AIM or something, I'd love to hear your views.

I actually do not have AIM, but I do have Hamachi and that is it. I used to Skype on my other computer but it was recently wiped out with Mal-ware. I am actually working on a legislative measure and have my rough draft coming together quite nicely. If you would like, I will post what I have ASAP.
