We had about 5 in of rain and then discovered that our basement was flooding. Stepping on the carpet would give you a standing cm of water.We shopvaced the carpet and then pulled it up and the padding underneth. We then shopvaced the tile floor under neath and found that water was still coming in. It is a mess and we will have to replace the tile and carpet.
