I slid into a snow bank with my car back in February and since then it's made a grinding noise when I make sharp left turns. I was finally able to take it into the mechanic and apparently there are a lot of things the matter with the vehicle. The tires and brakes are so bad that I'm lucky to not have been in an accident already (a fact for which I have thanked God several times already) and there are some other structural issues due to the car having some factory parts (it's a 2006 car) that are starting to go. The sum total of all repairs would be $2000+, though for now I'm just having him fix the unsafe things (like the brakes and tires). That's still about half so the cost is estimated around $1000. I have that in savings at the moment, so I'm not super worried about that, though the remainder of the repairs will need to be done eventually so I'll have to come up with those funds.
The part that concerns me the most is that my apartment lease is ending at the end of May. I'm on the hunt for a new apartment currently and eventually will need to sign a new lease and pay all the associated fees. I'm switching from half a 2-bedroom to a 1-bedroom (as I couldn't find anyone to room with) so my overall costs will be increasing and the biggest cost will be the initial one as you have to pay 1st month's rent up front as well as the security deposit (which is usually the same as a month's rent).
Between the lease signing fees and the car I don't know for sure that I'll be able to pay it all. I'm planning to put the car repair work on my credit card so if worse comes to worse I can pay it off over time but I hate to carry balances due to interest and taking hits to my credit and other such repercussions.
So, tl;dr, I could use some prayer for my financial situation, as well as wisdom to find a place that is right for me, and that I can afford long-term, and to handle this situation in the best way.
